This L E O Died protecting his handler. From another dog. K-9 Joey was a German Shepherd that fell in the line of duty. We stood a Flag Line at the Middle School Gym in Linn Mo. K-9 Joey was a member of the Osage County Sheriffs Department. We had 28 M/Cs show up for his mission. The Funeral home donated the casket the hearse and their time. I was actually doing rather well til the Sheriff switched on his P A speakers and they did K-9 Joey's last radio call followed by TAPS. There was a hall on the grounds on the Apple Orchard/Pet Cemetery out there and one of the Sheriffs Departments provided sandwich's soft drinks and chips. I managed to wad up 314 miles today while doing this mission. Was able to talk to the Sheriff that K-9 Joey saved. He'd really like to have Joey back but under the circumstances he understands!
