He signed them when other record companies passed on the Beatles.  He heard sounds that no one else did to enhance the basic ballads and rock n' roll songs of McCartney and Lennon.
A classically based producer with a group of (then) punk rockers from the dregs of Liverpool.

Pretty good combination that changed music and social conventions back in the 60's.
Still, the most influential quartet of musicians in the history of popular music.

Rest well from a job well done, Sir George, and thank you from a then-young Bill. angel

A selfless individual who was kind, compassionate, and listened. Qualities that are missing in many people today! RIP, the things you saw and were part of will be talked about for many, many generations. As a music lover, thanks George Martin for helping to bring new, innovative music to the world!

He was truly the "5th" Beatle. Many don't realize how much influence he had on their music. If not for him, the music that changed the world would not have been possible. Take it from a Beatles tribute band member and student of their history. RIP Sir George.
