Never really wanted an AR. Carried one for years in the military, had enough of them, but this thing is fun! And no one will try to ban or confiscate it!!    Made by Kodabow. 185lb pull. They say it will take a bear. I think Ill keep the S&W500 for them critters. Give it time. They will try. |

I bought one before hunting season year an a half ago but I didn't have the time to be proficient with it so I wasted my permit an last year I didn't buy a permit. Haven't shot it since the 1st couple months. But however I'm fully retired now so that I'll have time. Go buy yourself an arrow puller. I have a hard rubber target an I had to put both hands on the arrows an a knee on the target. I then bought a puller but not used it yet. Be prepared, I shot one arrow right at the bottom of the target an couldn't find it, Its right under the soil inline somewhere. Get a good stop an go have a lot of fun !

I have never had much use for a crossbow. I'm a compound guy, but these newer bows are looking more and more appealing. I dont have the time like I use to to keep up on my archery but can still stick a deer at 40 yards comfortably. Looks like a nice one. No cams to wear out either  |

Looks ZACKLY like an assault crossbow.  Course we might could ask feinstein her feelings on it!  185-gonna need a extry special non obtainable 1 month expiring permit which takes more than 2 years to git and WILL be different for every state and every county or parish in the state. That looks nice. Looks like a quality piece. Glad to see its a recurve, they seem to hold up better than the compounds.
Have not heard of that make but as I mentioned it looks like a nice one. Good luck with it.

Rain stopped so I shot a few arrows with the grips repositioned like I want them and made a minor correction to the scope so it nails POA nicely.
One of the cool things about this is I can legally and safely shoot it in the back yard.

Just sayin' With a compound bow, there are more parts that can wear,or have problems and you can't change the string in the field like I can with this one. I purposefully searched for only recurve models. This is powerful enough to take all small game on North America..... Or a robber easily |

What you are calling an axle is the bolt that secures a stationary bushing with a groove in it. The loop at the ends of the string ride in the groove and the string is the moving part. The loop only rotates maybe a quarter way around the bushing. I'm glad you brought up this wear issue though. Every few hundred shots, I could loosen the bolt and rotate the bushing. "Point" well taken. Finger is doing well, I am comfortable shooting everything cept the .500. I think I will wait a few more weeks still for that one |

I've yet to go to a crossbow, but, have looked at Excalibur because they are recurve and have a good record. But, will certainly now look at these as they look good.
Their website shows a lot of nice stuff including the broad heads.
When I started archery Fred Bear stuff was about all that was around and his 2 blade broad heads were about all you could find, they were wind planing sons of guns. Then the replaceable blade things came out, didn't care much for most of them, too much resistance. Once Roger D [ don't want to butcher the spelling of his last name as he doesn't deserve that] came out with his 3 and 4 blade one piece heads the world changed. Have been using them [ 3 blade, the 4 blade tends to plane] for over 30 years. They blow a hole right through a deer like nothing. Just a little time to index them correctly and they shoot like a target point.
Have heard horror stories about mechanicals, but, they have probably improved over the years. I'm just old fashioned and stick with what has worked. Some folks laugh at my equipment and some are too young to know what it is, but, it still works.
Many of my old friends have gone to the crossbow and like them.

Well, this my fist bow of any kind. I was decent with a regular recurve in HS. This shoots more like a rifle. I just finished making a better target and re adjusting the string and then fine tuning the zero at 20 yds. It consistently hits within 1" of dead center every shot so I am happy with it.
The bag target I ordered should be here in a couple days, right now it's a cardboard box tightly filled with phone books and magazines. Works pretty good actually.

OK, so I am pretty proficient with this new weapon. The target tip won't hurt a pig very much so I am going to try these Target tip  Mechanical broad head closed during shooting  Opened upon impact...OUCH!  |
