Hello All, Does anyone know if there is a way to move the Interstate trunk backwards a couple of inches? Give me and my passenger more room? Thanks for the help!

I have an I/S and I GUESS it could be done-extend the rails extend the wiring harness but I'm also GUESSING it will change the geometry of the M/C. Not real sure if anyone here has undertaken that particular task BUT you iz in da right place to find out! Good luck with this quest! RIDE SAE.

How about moving that interstate trunk forward and then you would have the ultimate drivers backrest.

I remember someone doing that also, but don't remember who.

I am a large individual and my wife normal size and the IS has plenty of room I don't even know she is there other than the added weight ( or when she falls asleep and bumps my helmet with hers )So I don't think I will be moving my trunk she might fall off

I did it using aluminum stock; you need to add a 1" x 1" bar of the length you want at the mounting point in the lower center of the trunk. You'll need a crossbar (1/2" x1/2", width of the trunk mounts) behind that, to catch the bottom front trunk bolts. Finally, I used 3 pieces of flat stock 1" x 1/4" (length of the front bottom offset) to pick up the rear trunk bottom bolts. I believe I added about 3 inches of passenger seating space. The original wiring was long enough to handle the change. Did it back in 2001-2002, finer details escape me. Drill & tap, extra hardware needed. So easy a cave girl did it!

We had snow on Monday, but it's pretty much gone now, supposed to hit 60 tomorrow. Unfortunately, I've got a PODS in the driveway that precludes getting the trike out, but the scooter can just barely fit between the rock wall and the PODS. I suppose I'll just have to take it for a ride... Hope you're well, John, seems like you are enjoying life, give yourself a big hug!
