I believe that the country could have backed J.D. Clampett for President with Granny as his V.P. and won the hearts and minds of Cons and Libs alike.  Granny ran for mayor of Beverly Hills in one episode and shook up the establishment, if my memory serves me right.  Must have been the tonic.
Can we still draft Jed for "The Hillbilly Party"?

A nice find indeed.  Granny's tonic was popular in several episodes.  Wednesday night's as a youth was hilarious with first the Beverly Hillbillies followed by Green Acres.  I really think the 60's and first part of 70's was golden age of TV, at least family wise, but just my opinion.

Would need a much stronger tonic these days to get good results, pretty sure it does not exist.
