 My wife has an office on a corner. One street goes to residential and the other is state road patrolled by the locals. I go down about a half block and (jay) walk to the post office. A leo I know asked me why I was not crossing at the walk light. It is not safe. After the second time I was nearly hit , I got away from the light. Even with the walk light  , I had a driver lay on the horn for me to get out of his (her) way. I indicated to the walk light and was flipped off. I will take my chances jay walking. I can see traffic and decide when to cross.
