Throwing a leg over the Valk and zipping my jacket outside the restaurant last night, a random dude stops to chat. Him: "Nice bike!" Me: "Thanks." Him: "I was once like you...I rode everywhere. I got old though." (dude is probably exactly my age) Him: "How many miles have you put on it?" Me: "Two-hundred and ten thousand or so." He looks shocked for a moment. Him: "Two. Hundred. Thousand?" Me: "Yep." Him: "Correction. I wasn't like you. Ever." I'll see you on the road.

Heck, very few of us are like you, Daniel. I'm just rolling up to the first 100k. Safe journeys...

Honestly comparing any two of us there are many characteristics we hold in common and many which we do not. Some of us are a lot more like each other than some might be. "I was never like you." I live for that.

We ARE alike in the fact we CHOOSE to ride! And we look forward to and understand the siren call of the wind. RIDE SAFE.

For what it's worth
I have a friend {Harley guy} who was a road captain nicknamed "road dog". After hanging out with me he dropped his nickname. Told me he was "unworthy" of the name and that I was the REAL road dog.
I did twice his miles in half the years. He is looking at Hondas now
Keeps telling me "yeah but you rode to the artic circle"
He is still my friend, hope he comes to the new place to visit

"I'm not like you" Nope, everyone is different.
I have no idea how many miles I have rode. Certainly not even close to many on this board.
Maybe the only claim is that I rode when it wasn't very popular then.
I kinda wish that I was still riding but nope, that is my decision.
I do miss my Valkyrie tho.

I can't IMAGINE you ever getting lost on a ride...
You're never really lost with a Red Book... when we were looking in there we easily saw the place where I'd missed a turn 20 miles previously... some even admitted they noticed that I'd gone off course at the time, but we were riding, not going somewhere...
