I downloaded W-10 last night and all seems to run quite well....so far. I deactivated all the stuff that tracks and sends stuff to MS, they have no business knowing mine. One thing I liked about 7 was the games, and I can pull up all kinds of them out of the "Store" icon but have yet to figure out how to get any of them to play. Anybody have a clue what I'm talking about and tell me how to activate a game?

John, I had the same complaint with W10, the games suck! I uninstalled & went back to 7. I'm thinking I should be able to put them on a separate drive using 7, then upgrade to 10 again, and access them from the drive. Actually, my laptop has 10, and I should just try putting them on a separate drive  before I upgrade. I'll let you know how that works.

thanks.

I don't know how to go back in to make changes, it was something I did when it first downloaded and ran through all the settings. I'd just have to keep poking around till I stumbled across it again.

I had to buy a new computer last year about this time.  It came with Win8.1.  I also missed the Win7 games.  I found the following:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_DIZpGjhvE

This is the link in the description below the video:

Windows 7 Games (Direct Link): https://mega.nz/#!5NMEwL6B!IYkljLB1rC...

Don't know if the link will work from here, but it does work from the description below the video.

I've been doing computers since the mid-80's, IT Manager for many years.  I am very paranoid about downloading.  I did the download from the above a year ago with no problems.  No viruses, malware, etc.  I have been using Bitdefender for at least 5 years.  The file I downloaded gave no squawking from Bitdefender, and, again, I have been using the games for a year with no problems.

The guy from the video did another video which I found 1st, and he references that in the above video.  The original gave instructions on how to copy files from Win7, where to put them, what to do to get to them, etc., etc.  I did not take the time to do that.  Shortly thereafter, I found this "Updated" which he put all files and all the procedures embedded in the exe file in the updated video.  You download a zipped file which gives two text files and the exe that installs the games.  Much easier.

I followed the path in this updated video and I do not remember going to that particular website a year ago.  I did do some searching this morning on the Mega website and saw only positive replies.  They look to be a cloud company.  I did see they want you to use their product or your browser to download and a few other items to sell you.  Watch what is checked to make sure you are not getting some of their "stuff".

I have no connection, monetary gain, etc. with these people and, as always on the internet, have your antivirus, antimalware, etc. up to date, and download at your own risk.  I don't guarantee this, but it did work for me a year ago.  He mentions that it works on Win10, some version.  Don't know that either.  I'm still on Win8.1 waiting to be comfortable with what I hear about Win10 before making the plunge.  Actually, seriously thinking about going to Linux.

Good luck.  I hope this helps.

And to the Win10 spying fixes, do a search on Win10 fixes.  I have heard problems with software that will do this for you.  You get all of their chit loaded on your machine along with the "fixes". Some I found last summer are:

Be aware.  Hope this helps.

And as always, ride safe!!!

I was warned about W10 a year ago, not ready for prime time.  My laptop is still on W7 and it will stay there even with all the annoying update pop ups...

I came into work one morning, my computer was left on overnight, and the screen said "Welcome to Windows 10". I left click on the screen and there was page to click on the user agreement etc. Not like one to be pushed into something I didn't ask for, I declined a couple times. Windows 10 was already loaded on my computer and after I declined, I shut down and rebooted. Screen said it was loading my previous version of windows (7). This took quite a bit of my office time to reload, which I have little of, so I can check my work orders on my mail and get to work. Later it said "unable to load win 10" or some such.
I don't need any thing changed on my computer and I don't need a free offer to install win 10 every few minutes.
