And it'll take about 4 years for this to happen.  It'll be interesting to see how much this costs us.

They got rid of an insignificant Southern man, but
that's probably just a coincidence... if they had
put someone else on the $5, now that would really
have been an improvement  cooldude

Since a woman will now grace the $10, it will only be worth $7.75.

People who sing the song of equality and no difference seem to miss the point that if you consider the gender (or whatever else you are attempting to equalize) when you make your choice then you obviously have not achieved or even moved closer to your objective.

Political Correctness runs amuck once again. Historically I would suggest that one of the Presidents is the more prominent figure. But since I just joined the known racist society for saying such jibberish, I think I will go put on my Confederate Valkyrie t-shirt and take a ride. Hasta mon yana, y'all.

They were able to get 2 PC check boxes with one person, female and black... I'm sure they were disappointed that they couldn't find a black female transgender lesbian handicapped Muslim for bonus points...

I've always liked Andy Jackson.  Great warrior president. (not so great with the Indians though)

Who could not like a guy who (reportedly) once shot a man off the White House porch?

Andrew Jackson enlisted into the Continental Army at age twelve and served as a courier in the Revolutionary War, running important packages and battle orders across the front.  While he performed his job admirably, he was eventually captured and taken prisoner by the Brits, making him the only U.S. President in history to ever have been a Prisoner of War.

His life is full of amazing stories, including (surviving) over 100 duels.

At 67 a man tried to assassinate him at point blank, missfire, and he brained the assassin with his cane.

At Jackson's funeral, his pet parrot had to be removed from the church because it wouldn't stop swearing.

I will mourn Old Hickory's passing on the twenty. (think I'll get a pile before their gone)

Well, isn't that an increase ?  I thought that past 7 years made it worth less than that.

I think Harriet Tubman was quite a gal. I don't know if she belongs on a bill, but, she was an important person.

Also it keeps the slavery thing out front, lets do what we can to guilt the public over something that was addressed many years ago and at the same time keep a segment of the population stirred up and feeling repressed about it.  Must be a liberal thang.

She was quite a person.  She accomplished much and sacrificed much.  My rolling of the eyes isn't because she wasn't a great person of history but that the American persons who have their images on U.S. currency are only a select few.  I don't see Harriet Tubman high enough on the list to justify that.

I think Serk had the correct assessment.

Thanks.  I learned some more about Jackson I did not know.  He was the first pres that was not of the east coast establishment, something we are still fighting to this day. He almost won in 1824 buthe establishment effectively blocked him them.  Guess he had a bit of Donald Trump in him or Trump has Jackson.  Both Pauls Rand and Ron would have been proud how he closed the 2nd bank of the United States by vetoing a bill that would renew its charter.  Guess he also had a bit of Corporal Sanders in him.   I guarantee you there is no Jackson in Sanders.

so she was a law breaking border crossing human smuggler?  founder of the Coyotaje profession?

I also read they are putting a black woman opera singer on one of the other bills.

The Navy just announced they are naming a new DDG after a Michigan democrap senator. most of the other ships in the class are named after war heroes.

Some good points made, I'm not sure she belongs on the bill as mentioned before, but, I think it is to continue obama's agenda to keep fanning the flame.

But, blacks of the time were republican. They knew.

No, no, no. He is kicking off Ben from the hundreds and replacing him. 20's are for chumps. 100's are worthy of executive orders.  Roll Eyes

As the practice has been to not display the image of anyone still living on currency he would have to issue that executive order after his death.  Wow!  That would be some special powers.

If that would really do some good I would all for it but it won't change anything.  Race relations has gotten much worse over the last 7 years.   We as a nation are much more divided today than  before.
This will not bring us closer together .
