coolsmiley      question for the group ... I  keep all stock part off my 1998 yellow Valkyrie         Smiley
in case one day I need/want to sell     ... i'm set up solo so I have the seats , backrest ect. I see other valkyries owners look'in to buy these parts now and then  ... should I keep'em in case a new owner should want them ?      ???       will it make for a more attractive deal to a buyer ?     Undecided      I would like to sell the extra stuff ... the wife say to keep it all .
have on a mercy on a poor boy fellas

okay ... it's all back in big Tupperware type rectangular tubs and put away ... I thank you for your time to reply    Smiley

I'm almost the wrong one to answer it. I'm a pack rat. I just bought another rear fender with brake light, just for the brake light. Buy the whole item was less than the brake light.

Wanting to keep the fender, incase someone bumps me. When/if I need another one, then, I know I'll have to pay through the nose for one.

Usual question. Do you have room? Do you need the money? Can you afford to buy the part again, if you are keeping it for a replacement.

If you are just keeping them to give to the new owner with the sale, then don't bother. I have learned that extras only make the deal more appealing, not more valuable. Along with all the extra things you do to your bike. Unless you find someone who likes exactly the same things you do.

If you have the room save the stock parts, when you sell the bike put the stock parts back on and then sell the aftermarket parts you will make more money.

I hate to be the voice of dissent, but if you're sure you won't personally want them again, sell them.  Someone else will get use out of them instead of having them collect dust at your place.

Keep track of what you sell.  Worst case scenario is that you reduce the price when you sell the machine by what you sold that the buyer would've liked.  You already got that money anyway.

Listen to your wife. God has given them insight a man doesn't always have.

I wrecked my first IS that had a ton of aftermarket parts and the insurance wouldn't pay for them so I went out and had to buy stock parts to replace them,or nothing for the the good stuff.I bought another IS before I could ride again and spent my afternoons putting on the saved parts from the wreck.Lesson learned.By the way that's how I got my handle,Dragonslayer
