So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

The Government Development Bank had $422 million in payments due Monday. Puerto Rico will pay $22 million interest and it reached a deal Friday to restructure about $30 million, leaving it short $370 million.

The administration also will be paying about $50 million in other debt payments due Monday owed by various other territorial agencies.

Nearly all the bonds are held by a variety of U.S. hedge funds and mutual funds.

Things to do in San Juan, PR.

I figure the price of everything will go down soon, PR is about to default on a $370 million dollar payment due thusly further driving their economy into the dump. Of course, our all wise leader is giving more attention to Cuba than PR.

Should be an interesting Monday in PR.  Not to mention the stock market..........

A very good example of what happens when you get the whole country on the FSA hand-out plan.  We should just grant them independence and kick them loose.  Nothing but an anchor.

As are a number of European nations.

We still have people who work (for now) and pay taxes, so it will take a bit longer.

Of course, this has nothing to do with the vulture capitalist hedge funds that are giving PR the old Romney twist.....

It's all Obama's fault, of course.

vulture capitalist hedge funds

It's funny, venture capitalists are called "Vulture Capitalist" when they do well, but become "Angel Investors" when they lose money...

Never heard that before.....not from me, that's for sure.

And the reason for being termed 'vulture capitalists', they only do well at the expense (literally) of everyone else. Nothing left but a carcass.

Just wondering, if not for the capitalist, be they venture, vulture, or angel. Who would employ the working man that is not on the government tit?

Venture capitalism did not make Puerto Rico spend itself into the drowning stage.

It may or may not make things worse now that they are in the death throes, but they did that all by themselves.

Not to worry, we have taken care of them for decades. I'm sure we will continue. It's only money. Ain't America great.

Or maybe they [ or we ] could get the EU to step in and help. They have had a lot of experience with Greece.  I'm sure they would like to lend a helping hand.
