On my '97 standard always was a Dark Sider running coopers zeons. Needing tires on my 98 tourer , any feed back on the Austones? where they are available and size?

I have heard rumors of folks tearing out all their rear wiring, I think I heard Hotglue had this happen to him.

where did you order from? Universal Tire? I have one and very happy with it.

Seeing opinions are asked for, I am not a fan. I had two Interstates at the same time and was able to switch bikes back and forth for quite a while and instantly noticed the difference. The Pro is the slightly lower RPM, what I did not like was the rear slightly higher than the front due to the taller tire however that was small stuff, what I felt was the Interstate with taxi tire was sucked into ruts something terrible and the Michelin primacy pilot CT did everything better to the point it is now on my Tourer. I know personally many people who like the AT, it is just not for me.

Bonzo keep that Austone at 42psi minimum. I run 44 two up. There is a shimmy I have experienced (high speed) at or below 40, it's nonexistent at or above 42. As far as following ruts, it's a heckuva lot better than the Falken Ziex I have on the IS I purchased last fall. That thing is getting replaced with an Austone ASAP! YMMV.

where did you order from? Universal Tire? I have one and very happy with it. Yes I did, They are in Hershey PA pretty close to me in Chester NY should be here by tomorrow

Just getting back from running the hell out of mine! I saw this posted quite awhile back, when I was just breaking my first Austone in (I'm on my second, and ordered a third for Bertha -- about 35k so far). Anyway, I got paranoid and emaild Dubsvalk. He replied telling me he does not think it was the taxi tire that was at fault. Said he thought it was a great tire.

Love mine. Agree with the 44 psi. Put mine on last year and then road us129 the dragon. Handled perfectly. Others (hd) riders were surprised I ran tbe twisties with zero worries. You will love it.

I'll say this, I did not need the "Nut Cage Mod" for me to run the Austone Taxi Tire (plenty of room there) and no harm has resulted from that. Yes, the wife is also still happy. Well, as happy as she ever was................

I, at 220+ lbs, and my gal, 125 lbs, running stock shocks set at 3, have never rubbed the tire, an Austone taxi tire, which is at 42 psi. Been to 100 mph for miles, 2up, with no shakes. Did not remove nut cages, however there IS a nut driving. BTW, I put that tire on myself. Oh, and another BTW, be sure to replace that valve stem with a new metal one. Lesson learned...

Thank you! I got you by a few I'm pushing 350, the Mrs is about 125 also. I have progressive 444, I might crank them up a bit. I might do the nut cage anyway, I did it on my '97. BTW all thanks for the input!

I was running the ATT at 36#, was pretty happy with it. Until I started towing the Timeout popup camper which is heavier than most trailers.  All of this tent is inside the trailer, and quite a lot more equipment, too.  I was getting a wobble at 70 on I-25, which is rotomilled. Did not get the wobble at 70 on non-milled pavement. OK so took a spin today sans the trailer but with the pressure boosted 7# to 43. WOW what a difference! The bike rides like it's on rails! Feels very solid, planted, good footing. Like a completely different ride! Haven't tried the trailer yet, but expect no more wobble.

The Austone max inflation is I believe 50 psi. It needs every bit of 40 to ride well. IM HO.
