I know there are some health conscious people in the group.  By chance does anyone use bone broth, if so, do you see any results either way, and in what period of time roughly, if you do?

I dont know health wise, but for cooking withVeal stock is my personal favorite. Roast the bones from chops or osso bucco  and simmer. I save them in the freezer till I use them.

That's a pretty open question. If you could be more specific, as in what are you are trying to achieve by using it.

Dr. Oz is a moron. Is he actually a real doctor? Or does he justhave a tv show making a few million a year off of it. Does he actually do any real doctoring?  Or just run his mouth and tell everyone everything you eat is bad for you but the healthy stuff is not as bad for you? Sorry, cant stand that guy.

As usual its a home remedy that is coming around again. Its been used for years but under the name of Knox gelatin and is basically the same thing just in a more processed form. It promotes joint health and numerous other benefits. Women who want to strengthen nails people who have arthritis also take knox. My dogs food does the same thing its called Wing a ling and it has chicken wings in it. They cook it till the bone is soft and keep the nutrients in the food. I have a small dog and don't have to take the bones out since they are easy to chew for him. Instead of going through all the trouble to boil the bones just get Knox Gelatin.

Bone marrow is actually prescribed and may be more what you are talking about though. I have tried the Knox and seen some results but not the bone marrow soup. Just a short paragraph from the article with the link below.

http://www.livestrong.com/article/445905-what-are-the-health-benefits-of-eating-bone-marrow/

Dr. Auer prescribes bone marrow in the form of bone broth to his patients suffering from inflammatory conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, gluten intolerance and leaky gut syndrome. He notes that, for people with digestive disorders who may have trouble digesting supplements or other certain foods, bone marrow's collagen can provide nutrition while rebuilding damaged tissues and intestinal lining. Marrow's immune-boosting capabilities can also speed up the healing process for people trying to overcome these conditions, he says.

This is a lot of good information, I have been doing bone broth for several months, and haven’t noticed anything difference either way, except my electric bill.  Often people look for big changes, myself, I look for the slightest thing out of the ordinary. I guess I will keep at it.

I watch Dr. Oz from time to time, he is a surgeon, the thing you have to understand about his show is, he acts like a middle man between other peoples information.  He seems to want to bring these issues to the viewer’s attention; he does not indorse any products or methods. He shows the things that people do and lets you be the judge, unless he knows it may be hazardous to your health, and then he lets you know.  Many people misinterpret his intentions, and assume that if it is on his show, it all must be true, that is not correct. He does get some excellent people, doctors; nutritionist and naturalist on his show, but you must be objective when watching.  If you want to see some real medical butt heads in my opinion, watch the Doctor’s show, they are like The View, The Real and Wendy Williams with doctors on it. When I see doctors on a show, wearing scrubs, Stethoscopes and other medical items on them during a talk show, it is a mental trigger, which seems to be a type of deception to me.  I look at Dr. Oz Show as a source of information, what I choose to do with it is up to me. It gives me a starting point for a search.

The truth and the bottom line is, health is like a math equation, if you change the variables, you change the outcome!  Simple.

Thank You All for your input, it helps me out.
