Monday I had my 1st experience with not retaining my focus while driving. I was leaving a parking lot at slow speed and moved a little too close to the curb, lost my direct focus, engine guard grabbed the curb and I took the enevitable fall to the ground.
A little wounded pride and a shoulder that has to be replaced. Just a confirmed fact you must be aware of what you are doing at all times.
Best thing about it is there was no damage to the bike.

Due to the type of injury and the way the bone broke(3pcs), I may end up with a replacement.
That however is not the point, I was merely wanting.to illustrate how even a momentary distraction has consequences. Perhaps the use of driving and riding and driving is such an important distinction in this issue is far more important than the message overall. 

Ladies and gentleman, I have enjoyed my time with you all and wish you all many more trouble free riding miles.

Ouch!  Sorry to hear this Stan, and best wishes for a complete recovery.  Your point is well taken, it can happen to any of us at any time.  Who here can say they are focusing 100%, 100% of the time? 

Hope you're back riding again before long!
