Ok, before some start calling me a perv or something...
My wifes 94 yr old mother has dementia and also is a nut case (and this is from my wife, but I agree with her).
We need someway to monitor her activities.  She's been known to "take" things and hide them from her husband (who, by the way, is in denial it's her). She takes his pills, money, clothes, etc...
Seems like anything she can take to piss him off.
We know it's her because my wife found these items in her room shoved deep behind clothes in her drawers, closets, knight stands, etc...
She will deny it till her last breath even if you prove to her beyond a shadow of doubt that she got caught.

For the last 30ish years they've slept in different rooms and she throws a fit if anyone enters her room.

Our thought is something like "Nanny cams" or the like so at least when something comes up missing we can see where she's been and start searching those areas.

We're looking for video and audio cameras that are wireless.
We've looked online, best buy, radio sack and such but there always seems that there's something missing or the record time is too short.

Anybody have any kind of experience with this? Or ideas where we can look/check?

Don't see how you can do this legally without their permission. Just saying, but feel for the situation. I have no info on the cams.

Sure he can. If she has dementia, chances are that she's not alert/oriented to to time, person, or place. If she's lacking any one of those, then she can't give consent to anything, and that's where her LAR (legally authorized representative) or whoever is designated medical power of attorney steps in. Most folks with dementia can't make any legal decisions on their own. That would be left up to her husband or daughter. People residing in memory care units or private homes are video monitored all the time, since it's a safety issue.

not going to comment on morals...

a coworker purchased a 2 camera set from Elsucko De Walmart for less than $100.
connects to home wifi, has motion sensor alarms, can be monitored from your smart phone....
her reasons were to monitor an empty home while at work due to a returning runaway
teenage daughter to borrow items for the pawn shop....

Have the same situation but we have POA over her.  Had  HD cameras installed indoors and out not wireless due to streaming capabilities.  She has a part time caregiver and we do the rest.  She lives 2 houses away and lives alone overnight.  We monitor, search, record for 9 weeks on a dvr, computer, or phone.  Should have done it earlier.  When we eventually get a full time live in it will give us peace of mind.
PM me if you need more info

Thanks fellas!

My wife does have POA over them (for a few years now). And it is for safety for both.

Thanks Randy, I may contact you eventually.  The wifes brother says he has cameras that he used at his house, he travels in his job (we think it's by choice so not to be around to help in this situation, but that's another story) and is gone for weeks/months sometimes.
We'll see if those will work if it comes to that.
But the latest is they may be going to a resthome sooner than we thought so that should solve a lot of the headaches we, mainly the wife, are facing right now.
