Been about  2 1/2 weeks since replaced. Been some pain, but getting better.  Been hot and heavy on my rehabilitation.  My therapist only comes twice a week.  Staples already removed.  He measured yesterday and only likes 1 degree on both knees to be straight. On bending them right knee at 120 degrees and left at 118 degrees. I listened to everyone advice and have really worked hard on rehab. Still got a way to go ,but getting better every day.

it has been five years for both of mine.  This pain goes away, the pain of the bas knees was never going away.
Best decision I had made in years.
Keep up with the rehab even after the goals are hit, the flexibility will only get better.

I had mine done around 3 years ago 4 months apart. Your doing great on the rehab. My final was 127 on the right knee and 117 on the left. There happy with anything over 110. I was on my bike in 8 weeks and pretty much fully recovered in 12 weeks. They told me it was almost more important to get to 0 on straightening the knee than bending. I really don't know why! It changed my life with no regrets. I lived with the pain for 10 years. I was at first afraid that they wouldn't do it because of my age. 59 at the time but my doctor said that if I had knees like that at 29 years she would have done it.

Keep up the PT

I understand why being straight is important.  My  right knee wasn't as straight as my left and while walking I would drag that leg some or either swing it out to the side. Now I have them both equal.  I take two  5 lbs weights and hang them right below my knee with it elevated.  Do each one 5 minutes three or 4 times a day. By the time the 5 minutes are up I am ready to take them off.

I got back my height back as well. My legs were so bowlegged that I was about an inch and a half shorter. Now I'm back to 6'6".

I have heard of that. I had noticed before surgery that both of mine was getting bowed also. Maybe mine will straighten up also.

I wish you well David with the knees. I hope they last a long time. Everybody says they are very good. I was freaked out years ago when my MA had one done a few years back and at how soon they had her up and walking an the difference of pain I went through a yr or close to 18 yrs ago now I had a completely shattered acl an they had to do a bunch of scraping on the minunicess plus sew in a chunk of ham string. fixed her up but I was in a crap load of pain. Now I think it's going to hell along with my heart, so I'll just make the knee hang in there. I think all them knees are made outta titanium now so when you get over the soreness hopefully you should be able to jump around like a monkey for a long time to come. Good luck Dave.

I hope so to. Both of mine are supposedly made out of titanium. Nothing like having knee pain plus maybe heart problem. I wish you relief for your pains also.

I had my left knee replaced in 1992. It still works great, doc says still no problems, may last rest of my life.
