We just picked up my wife's 2014 Subie Crosstrek for a 2016 Crosstrek. The combination of our equity and the Guaranteed Trade Program could not pass it up and then when we are about ready to sign, I metioned coupon and he found a $500 Loyalty credit....So far the coolest thing is the adaptive cruise control that is part of the EyeSight option...the car will come to a stop and all the way to 0mph and the car in front takes off...
The new one

And the old one

I actually like the design of that car plus appears to have very good ground clearance.

I heard the subaru's are very reliable and high in resale value which is great if you enjoy and like driving them all the better.

Same as my toyota tundras.  I had a dodge dealer recently offer me for my 2 year old tundra with 25K miles on it 31.5K for trade in (really only worth 30K tops trade in value) with new dodge ram at or below dealer cost (I verified with 3 other dodge dealers being a good deal NOT overinflating their new truck pricing) and I ONLY paid 34K out the door on it over 2 years ago or so.  Hard to pass up less than 3-4k in depreciation in a full 2 years of driving it.  Not many vehicles can say that.

I'm thinking I will keep my tundra though since just found a good deal on OEM tires/rims new for 1/2 price of new even though don't need the tires until winter or after maybe.  Also found out the 2016 dodge ram 1500 crewcab msrp of 48K if bought for 39K out the door pricing is only trade in value 30K tops in ONLY 1 year of driving it making it a 9-10K in depreciation in only 1 year which is a lot more loss than my tundra in even 3 years of driving it.

I think your subaru's fall into that same category excellent resale value and I believe most subaru's have AWD/4wd as well being a very safe car as well.  Enjoy!!!  cooldude

I think I will be considering for sure a subaru like that for my next vehicle.   I like the form and functionality of that type of vehicle and probably cheaper than my wife's SUV with same or better mpg at 26 avg mpg.

Good Choice!

The Crosstrek is becoming very popular.

My wife has a Forester and I have an FRS.

Subies feel so nimble......fun!  Wink

My two cars and of course the Valk have flat engines...wuzup widdat?

But I can't forget reliable old Barney my '89 F150 who always starts up for the weekly garbage run and never complains when I load himmup wiff dirt or mulch. >200K and his 300- 6/C6 setup still pulls like a train.

Good luck with the Subie.....you'll prolly buy another when the time comes.  cooldude

Yes the ground clearance is 8.9" I think.  When we got our first one, I had never even heard of the Crosstrek. My wife had just totaled her Chevy Colorado because some dim bulb in a Town Car pulled out...I made a short list of what I would like to take a look at and she said "I want a Crosstrek" and it was a pretty nice ride. I am sure we will be staying with Subaru for a long time...and we have a FANTASTIC dealer in Subaru of Chandler

Congrats. My best bud just bought his wife a black Crosstrek. We are looking to get a new/later model Outback. Present '00 Outback has 208,000 on the clock, still driving & running great. Subbie flat 4's bottom ends are like our Valks, 300,000+ not unheard of. Head gaskets on earlier models a weak link, but not a big deal.

I think it was 2014 models did away with timing belts, newer one have chains.
All Subaru's have been AWD for some time, handle great.

The white looks great, good choice. The black looks great too, for that two hours after it's washed. Wink

My son just bought one for his wife, they both seem to like it. They needed a second vehicle that they could haul the new twins in safely.

We bought a new 2015 Forester in Dec 2014. My previous 5 vehicles had been American made and they weren't much to write home about.

The Forester isn't super luxurious but is fun to drive...think Gokart(y). We also have the Eyesight package and it's a pretty cool option.
It's one of the safest vehicles on the road and yes, it has one of the top resales for any brand.

My daughter lives in Colorado now and Subaru is one of the top choices for winter in the Rockies, so she says.

We were considering a newer Outback. While doing my research, i came across a new recall.
