So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

Covington, TN

« on: May 20, 2016, 05:43:25 AM »

Lordy, I know I'm in the minority.    The size of the crowd verifies this.   Just watching the Today Show and Puff Daddy was doing the street concert.   I can't help but think this man has talent going to waste.

This man has a unique talent to fool a bunch of people.   He should be a politician.    Either that or a garbage collector, his music "product" sounds like trash to me.   But, as I said, I'm in the minority and I realize I don't know crap about music.    coolsmiley

lol...you may not know crap about music, but can still know when music is crap  2funny

music is an art form and every individual sees / hears art from their own unique perspective. it's a divine gift for sure and it's so interesting to me that what resonates with one person has absolutely no mojo with another...funky beings us humans are.. i'm not a big fan of "p-diddy" or "puff daddy" myself, but he sure does have many fans. and it's not that i don't like rap, hip-hop ( i love music from most genres: country, metal, r&b, rap, hip-hop, blues, jazz, blue-grass, funk, rock, even EDM-electronic dance music) - i just prefer the style of other rap/hip-hop artists compared to Puff...don't get me started on Kanye (NOT A FAN)

I was listening to RAP once... from the car next to me at the red light...
besides the THUMP THUMP, the "lyrics" was the same phrase, shouted
over and over again... xxxx that xxxxxx xxxxx... oh well... I remember
back in the 70s when an older couple next to me at a red light were
offended by my blaring of "Why Don't We Do It In The Road?"...

"blaring", of course, is relative when you're talking about a cheap
cassette player in a ragged out 72 Honda civic...

There are two kinds of music -- good and bad.  In my opinion, Puff Daddy's music is bad.

While I may agree with your definition of "music".    I personally don't feel what I heard qualifies to be considered as "music".   Noise?   Definitely!

When they were popularizing rap, someone took the "c" off the beginning of the word...

(Yeah yeah yeah, every generation doesn't get the next generation's music I know, I know. I get MOST of the young kids music (Hell, I went to a concert of a virtual pop star and loved it, cut me some slack!) but rap.... I'll grant that it's an art form, but I have a hard time saying it's music.)

Music is so subjective.  For instance, I'm a confirmed rock and roll junkie. As such, I am supposed to like the Rolling Stones but I don't.  In fact I can't stand them.  Same with the Doors.  To each his own.  I'll take the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Kid Rock, Aerosmith, Etta James, Muddy Waters, AC/DC, Louis Armstrong, Metallica, Cheap Trick, Motley Crue and Willie Nelson.

Ride Safe,
