Ok. I bought my Valk about 9 months ago. Registration says 98. Its a standard. No complaints. Runs awesome and rides even better. Had a friend od a friend that came up today and told me its a 97. He also know valks. The production date is 6/97. He told me they didn't change it to a 98 till 8/97. Just curious. Any info ? Said it had different carbs then the 98 and was faster stock. Like I said, Not an issue. Just curious.

If the 10th digit of the vin number is a 7 then its a 1997, if its an 8 then its 1998. Vin is on the steering neck.

Thank you Smokin Joe. It's a 98. confirmed by the links you sent me. Guess guy that was telling me that was fos.
Oh and Firefighter. , Not sure your very accurate on your Assumption. My tenth was a 0.
