Looking for advice regarding a RAM mount for my cell phone (Samsung Galaxy). What works best on these bikes for attachment? I don't have a separate GPS, hopefully I'll be able to use the Maps function on my cell.....

A buddy had this one: http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-149Z-UN10U Make sure whichever one you get, that it has a tether. My buddy lost his phone riding one day.

I have the same one as well, Baldo. Works well on my iPhone 6 but the larger one, on Lesa's bike, for her iPhone 6+ sucks! She literally caught the phone in mid-air or it would have been toast. Came loose one more time as well.
Edit - read the post below and this was not the case with Lesa's phone. All the rubber snubbers are still in place.

I have that one. While doing a little research on WHY they failed, it turns out that most of them were because the rubber boots came off WITH THE PHONE! SO. Before using, pull the 4 rubber boots off (which you will find is surprisingly easy). Put some instant glue inside the boots and stick em back on. InZane and back last year - lotsa weather and interesting roads both directions no tether and no problems with my iPhone 6

Check this out. The quality is great! I recently installed one on Big Bertha. Charging issue resolved, USB charger built in. And the price can't be beat. http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Grip-Universal-Motorcycle-Car-Mount-Holder-Stand-USB-Charger-For-Cellphone-GPS-/222099438483?hash=item33b6287b93:g:4KMAAOSw2GlXICV8BTW, the mirror mount ball is removable, and the unit can be mounted to any standard RAM ball mount. So your mounting options aren't limited only to the mirror mounts. The unit also comes with two extra rubber grips, which you won't ever need if you glue them on as recommended above.

had the exact experience with the larger sized Ram phone mount. Doing 70 on a freeway, hit a bump, phone went flying fortunately to the shoulder or it would likely been run over. Took me a while to find and screen was cracked all to heck. Don't use it anymore without wire ties to keep the arms clamped tight. On a salient point, I find the phones presence something of a disraction similar to another thread here about car dash complexity. Find I'm better off just paying attention to what's around me so it normally stays in the screen bag where I can pull over and access it if needed.

I use the following Kappa holder for my GPS and/or S5. Weather protection and sun visor for good visibility, can easily use phone functions through the plastic screen, and it's got a great handlebar mount with quick release system for the case. Very safe, no worries about the phone popping out. http://www.kappamoto.com/Various-accessories/Accessories/KS954B

That looks pretty nice. Where did you pick it up? I can't seem to find a retailer in the US.

A local independant service/accessory shop here in BC carries several of their products http://2ndgearmotorcycles.com/ .... a little ways from you I just assumed if they're available here they would be in the US as well. I paid about 65.00 CDN for the case and mount last year
