Hello everyone. I am buying my first Valkyrie tomorrow, from a member of this group actually and couldn't be happier. I've always admired the old "naked Goldwings" but at 6'6 wasn't fond of riding them. I finally found a bike that I don't feel too damn tall for. Any advice or common Valkyrie knowledge you want to lay on a newbie is greatly appreciated. Thanks and I look forward to learning, and one day contributing in the group.

And check out the Florida board, I see you're in the Tamp area. We have a goodly number of Valk riders in that area and throughout Florida. Watch the Fla. board for rides posted, get to know them....they're a good bunch of people. I got paid to say that!

HI from Metro Detroit
When changing rear tires, do a through cleaning and lubrication/grease of the Drive unit. Don't let HD riders tell you that it's japanese,.....designed and built in the USA.
Have fun

I agree about the tech board; you can't buy the info and knowledge of those who can answer your questions and are willing to help. Religion and politics? Keep your powder dry and your head down. Best wishes for a great ride.

Welcome. At 6' 6", I highly recommend you get a long legged set of highway pegs if the fat girl doesn't already have them. Hope you make it to Inzane. Last time I checked, there were over 350 Valkyrie nuts signed up. Will be a fun time no doubt.

Guess Ill Google this Inzane everyone is mentioning. InZane is the annual gathering of the VRCC. It will take place this year in Morgantown, WV and start in just a little over a week. It lasts for four days and there will be a little over 350 people there most of whom you will enjoy meeting. It's a little ways up the road for you and a little short for planning but if you can make it I almost guarantee you will have a good time. Almost because there was that one guy, well two. ...

Welcome to the asylum! A 6'6" tall man is nothing for the mighty Valk to tote in comfort and style. Many of our members are that tall -- from side to side, that is! Enjoy the bliss of riding a smooth flat six!
