It *does* mean that... On Friday, June 3, Governor Nikki Haley (R) signed H. 3799, the Georgia reciprocity bill, into law. H. 3799 adds Georgia to the list of states whose Right-to-Carry permits will be recognized in South Carolina. H. 3799 went into effect immediately after approval from Governor Haley.-Mike

We Virginians have always had reciprocity with SC..... but never with GA.
I can ride South and hang a right all the way to (but not in) CA, and be reciprocal all the way, but not GA .
I think this is why: For permit reciprocity or recognition, Virginia law requires that the issuing authority provide the means for instantaneous verification of the validity of all such permits or licenses issued within that state, accessible 24 hours a day. Georgia has reported that they do not have this capability at this time.

All the ins and outs of concealed carry are why I think there should be a federal carry program that would be recognized in all states.

Even the NRA is on board with this (last I checked), but many of us have a problem letting the Fed get their hands on this issue. What can start out being simply wonderful, can be followed up with terrible followed by more terrible (maybe as soon as the next administration or congressional majority takes over). What they touch rarely turns to gold (it's usually more dark brown in color).

For those living in PA... are surrounded by anti reciprocity... with the exception of WV.
NY, NJ, DE, MD, OH...not one recognizes our LTCF (License to carry a firearm...) Only bordering state that has reciprocity with PA... is WV.

We have reciprocity with OH again. When OH refused to recognize our LCTF, PA stopped recognizing theirs. That changed back a while ago. Same thing happened with WV about 10 years ago. PA will recognize from any state that recognizes ours. We dont have a boatload of unnecessary hoops, costs, and fake training to go through so every time a state decides to get a CCW, they start saying that they will only grant reciprocity to states that have the same garbage added on as they do. When that happens, PA goes on their no carry list, and PA revokes their reciprocity in this state.

So the real question is with the 2nd amendment of the U.S. Constitution declaring the citizens' right to bear arms why does one need a license to do so? Does someone not understand the meaning of bear or the meaning of right?

Very clear to me. Roadog

Does someone not understand the meaning of bear or the meaning of right? You could have the right to bear, but not the right to conceal. Unintended consequences of this could mean that they have just made non permit open carry legal.
