Gonna be removing my exhaust and was thinking I'd like to replace the acorn nuts with new. But dang. Almost 5 bucks each??? Anyone got any better ideas??
Also clean the studs and just regular antiseize on them?

I replaced mine with regular SS nuts, not acorns. The acorns restrict how deep the stud goes into the nut, straight nuts don't....and the SS nuts were less $$. I still use anti-seize on them.

Here is info from some old notes I have:
Check the torque on your header nuts regularly and carefully when the bike is cold. They take ONLY 7 ft/lb of torque. Be careful or you will break the stud.
Exhaust stud size: 8mm to 6mm X 40mm stud at the Ace Hardware Store in the metric stud box. The part # for the stud is 90035-MN5-000...part # for the 6mm acorn nut (deep) is 90304-438-000.
I hope the above info is still correct.
Solutions to a header nut which loosens repeatedly are numerous, but here are the most popular: BLUE Loctite applied to the threads; 1/4" star washers with the teeth facing out installed between the nut and header flange (standard lock washers are largely ineffective); wave washers installed in the same place. Some people will mix the Loctite with ant-seize and apply that. Good luck!

NAPA numbers didn't work anymore but will go with starwashers and regular hex bolts. Thanks for all the help guys.

I have no advice on this matter, I thought you were writing about how chipmunks were storing acorns in your exhaust.
