I had my wife take a tire to get mounted this morning to the local honda dealer (since I am leaving tomorrow) and their compressor was broke down.  Called the Harley place and they said to bring it in, so the wife takes it there and as soon as they saw it was not a Harley wheel they told her "oh no, we only work on Harley stuff" so now she has to take it somewhere else.
What a bunch of arrogant arseholes. You can bet I would never buy anything there if it was the only bike shop in the country.

Anyhow the honda place got the compressor fixed and they are taking care of it now.

I was once in dire need of a valve stem and the only place I could get to was a Harley shop. Told the guy behind the counter what i wanted and he hollers to the guy in the back "Hey Jack, we got any of them Jap valve stems? What an asshole....

You have a damn fine wife if she'll take your wheel and tire into a shop to be mounted before you go off on a long trip.  Mighty fine indeed.

What in the world would you ever buy at the harley shop if you don't have a hd?  ???  Absolutely everything in the place has the HD logo on it, right down to the clothes racks and fixtures on the walls.   crazy2
Agree, they are @ssholes.

I even try to go non honda and of course non hd shops find them so far to do equal work and a far amount cheaper if can find one willing to mount, etc. tires that you do not buy from them directly since even a few HOnda dealers around me state they won't mount/balance/install tires UNLESS you buy the tires from them overinflated pricing as well.  If they would match or come close to matching internet pricing as well as charge SAME labor rate buying tires from them or not, would be best.

I guess I am lucky. There are 2 independent bike shops within 2 blocks of me.  I took my bike and 2 new tires to one of them about 3 weeks ago. They removed the wheels from my bike and mounted and balanced the 2 new ones for 97 buck....while I waited and shot the bull with the guy in front.

I was on a trip with my wife,  my sister, and her husband.  All of us at least 1000 miles from home.

Brother-in-law gets a flat on a Kawasaki Vulcan.  Only shop in town is HD.

We called and explained the situation.

"Yes, we have a tire in that size.  What bike is it going on?"  We told him Kawasaki Vulcan.
"No, we can not help you unless you have a Harley."

Really???  You can't mount a tire for a fellow biker who's stranded 1000+ miles from home?????

F*^k Harley.

Ill never own a Harley for these reasons.
All dealers think Harley is the only bike worth owning.
Most owners think their crap don't stink.
Not into buying over priced, under powered noise machines.
Don't want my crap in the shop every other week.

I got one for you, I rode up to York Pa with a bunch of my HD riding buddy's for the open house all went good until we went to the local Harley dealership, when we pulled in the guy said I had to park my Honda at the end so the HD riders can park closer, what a d--k head, I parked at the motel next door.

I would have just said MAKE ME move it and let the chips fall where they may.  Worse comes to worse dial 911 and report them to the police.

Would be similar to the 60's where blacks not allowed in an all white diner.    No sign indicating HD parking ONLY,  they have no right to tell you to move your NON-HD bike.
