Reactive policing will only beget more shootings, more drug dealing, more assaults, more destructive behaviors in already besieged neighborhoods. But when everyone gets tired of the chaos and victimization they will be screaming about the lazy, do nothing police.

Every year ~50 LEOS are lost due to "homicides ", not to mention how many public first responders take fire when they arrive on the scene/enter the premises /approach the car, etc...
When only the bad or good-for-TV gets shown, I understand what you said about the switch to re-active responses, and most likely slow responses when they are needed most.
