I think that protected crap only flies in the workplace. They don't usually take kindly to anyone disrupting a flight, and I don't think they care what race, religion, denomination or sexual orientation you are.

This is so confusing! The drunkard was gay, so he can't be wrong, but the flight attendant he attacked was black, so her life matters, and anyone attacking her is wrong. The only obviously guilty party is the pilot, who is a white guy tackling a gay guy, an obvious hate crime.
