yep... 2 dogs lost in 6 months... both were for my wife, but very loved by both of us.  They will both be missed.  :'(

Back on Feb 2nd, our 5 year old puppy, Praline, was hit by a truck.  We buried her by the front porch.

Today, we had to put down the older one, 13 year old Faleen... bladder cancer.  She held on a long time, but was no longer able to eat and not feeling good at all.  She's buried next to the other one by the front porch.

My dog, however, is still kickin'.  Ringo is 9 years old.  And let me tell you... he's a 40 mph couch potato!!!!  He only knows 2 speeds... really fast, and napping.  Grin

Dogs seem to be the best friends we have, loyal to a fault.  All they want is to be loved, that's the easy part.   I can relate to your loss.   Fill the void left when you and she are ready.   I lost my Bull Mastiff of almost eleven years about a year ago.    I will always miss him but, that empty place his demise left has been filled with a new English Mastiff that takes most of my attention and lives to make my day.     Great looking dog and that's one sweet lady in the picture.   Combine that with riding a fat lady and who could ask for more........   Be safe out there.   cooldude

That sucks! Same thing happened to me with my 2 beagles. About 6 months apart. Then I had to have my best buddy Petey put down about 4 months later. Still leaves a hollow place in my heart.

Won't  have another dog, I get too attached! I liked my dogs better than most people. They only want attention and love. They have no agendas like people do.

Dogs are the best. Smiley

It's nice that you had your kitchen floor match Ringo's coat.

He must be cool with that Grin

So sorry to hear about your loss. We've had dogs for over 14 years now and lost a couple on the way -- you never get used to it. They become such a part of your life and give you unquestioned affection and devotion. All you can do is remember the joy they brought you, and know that you gave them the best life they could possibly have had. That's about all that sits between me and total devastation when they go. Thoughts are with you, bud.

Thanks for all the kind words.  It's always nice to know you're not the only one to go through this kind of stuff.

Yep... he loves it!  He goes lay on it sometimes to cool off after running around outside.  Gotta pay attention walking through there to make sure he's not hiding where you're about to step.   cooldude

Loss is a part of love; no doubt you loved your buddies.

When the time is right, there will be another (or two) that will let you know that they are meant to spend their lives with you and your girl.
I just helped a friend and co-worker adopt his cat and dog within the last year.  Makes a person feel good to match up new buddies with good homes.
Maybe a friend will come along that will do the same for you.  There are shelters bursting with good animals that need to go to a good home.  They'll love ya back unconditionally. cooldude

Sorry for your losses and may your heart heal soon. angel

Can you imagine a world without pets, dogs in particular? I know I am a better person for having shared my life with some very special four legged friends.

I sure can't. I've had dogs my entire life except 4 years in the USN. I've had some great ones along the way.  cooldude
