Any body use sheepskin to cover your seat?  If so, do you just throw it over it or do you Velcro or something similar to keep it in place?

Alaska Leather uses a strap that goes under the seat with clips to remove the seat in the rain or for washing.

I throw mine on for long rides. I have straps. Just tie it up to something, so it wont move while getting on the bike. Doesn't move when being sat upon.

Got mine from Ikea. I put a hole in it that the post of the back rest goes thru. Other than my fat butt that's the only thing that holds it to the seat. I personally would NOT go around the block with out mine!  cooldude Best 50 bucks I spent for da Phatt Ghurl!  coolsmiley RIDE SAFE.

I have a full sheepskin that I cut the front off that fits the driver seat very well.  Went to a fabric store and got some heavy elastic cord and sewed two "straps" to it, front and rear with a little button activated sliding tensioner on each cord to tighten them up.  I use it quite often.

Edit;  Mine started out like old2soon's.  Done the same thing, cut a slit for the backrest to pass through with nothing else to hold it on except my butt.  Since I no longer have a passenger, I cut it in half.

I got mine here in WI brought my seat in and they did it in over 1 hour while I waited having it overlap my I/S seat along the sides as well for around 110 bucks.

http://www.wildthingsfur.com/sheepskin_seat_covers.asp

I like the short nap myself but if into long nap,  am sure it will provide more cushion just don't like all that fur all over.

A tad pricy, but much better than a stock seat.

They sewed on bottom a rear stetchable strap as well as a 3 point stretchy strap (basically elastic) on the front of the seat to keep it in place since it can shift around some while riding if not slightly secured to the bottom of the seat area.

They could have made those 2 straps shorter though since mine still shifts over to one side just a tad over time but not too bad.

2 types of elastic straps sewn on the bottom on the sides would be best like mine, plus prevents theft if a strap is under the seat since not cheap.

I like mine a lot provides a tad bit of cushion as well as no HOT vinyl OEM seat in the summer with shorts on is nice AND not as cold in the 40 degree temps vs. vinyl seat.

Got mine from Ikea.

Is it synthetic?  I had looked into sheepskin at one point and i remember ikea kept popping up on my searches but i don't remember it being real.  Isn't the main reason for sheepskin seat covers the natural moisture wicking ability of the wool to prevent swamp ass soggy monkey butt?  Thats why i was looking into it anyway

I have the Alaska and would ride without it. I'd recommend if you get one from them to get the optional front strap. It keeps it down on the seat better and prevents it from flipping up in the front if you rise up on the pegs while riding.

I haven't seen those before. But for that kind of money I think one would be better off just getting a pillion seat from Ultimate. I do think they should consider a different name for their product.  Smiley

I really like mine. Not sure who made it, came with the bike and it does not have a tag on it. Very big, actually covers the top of the rear shocks.

I have the Alaska on top of an Ultimate Seat and the combo is great.  Before, riding on the stock seat with no sheepskin was "baaaaaaad". coolsmiley

Mines on top of an Ultimate as well, but it works just as well on my other bike which has a stock seat.

Sugar & I have had factory seats, custom seats, corbin seats, daylong seats, mustang seats & now an ultimate seat.
We've used gel pads, airhawk, sheep skin, & combinations of all the above.
Bought one of these...& cut it down to fit.
Would have never believed it could be this comfortable!
(We no longer carry anything else.)

Like it sooo much, thinkin' 'bout springin' for one of these...

that is a good idea on the ceramic beads for under 60 bucks, cheaper than sheepskin, just not as soft.
