Tomorrow, I finish the best motorcycle training I've ever taken part in.  First, the Marine Corps has made me go to multiple riding courses over the years, and I've been riding on and off for 33 years.

The course is called, "BikeSafe." It started with the "Motor Officer" qualification course that our NCHP motor officers have to complete, then moved into road skill work with on the road coaching and assessment, and finally with instructor work to certify us as assessors.  Tomorrow, we provide training to younger rider and then assess their skills on the road.

The road work was a huge difference between this and other courses.  We often teach or learn basic throttle, clutch, braking, and turning, but the courses always fail to actually provide practical skills on the road.  Many of us have learned many of these lessons over the years through reading, mentorship, or experience, but man, this can be a HUGE help to both young and experienced riders.

Anyone else had any experience with it?

Here's an article that the base newspaper just published on the course.

Here's a video with the fat girl number two in the lineup.  I don't know how to put a facebook video on youtube, so I hope this link works.

Do you have the video file on your computer? And do you have a YouTube login? I'm not sure if you have to log in or not but after calling up a YouTube page, click on the "Upload" button in the upper right under the title bar. You'll have to decide if you want your share to be public, unlisted, or private.

Then select "Files to upload" on the next page. Find the file on your computer , select it and then click on the "open" tab. Your file should upload.

Raider if you look at the video you will see that the lead rider and the ones following you went deeper/further into the space where you had to do a 180 degree turn making it easier for them with more room and less lean angle and they could also use a tad more forward speed making the bike just a little more stable.

Thanks, Wiggy.  Unfortunately, someone else posted it on Facebook so I don't actually have the vid file.  I tried saving the video, but it only saves it on my facebook profile.  Grrrr

Thanks, Britman.  You're absolutely right and you must have done some similar training; most people wouldn't notice that.  I got a bit unnerved by the cameraman standing inside the box.  I know he was back in the corner, but for whatever stupid, subconscious reason, I still backed off a bit.
