No charges, but should there have been consequences?

“… this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now.”

Comey here made it clear that other government officials in similar circumstances are subject to reprimand or punishment.
Administrative punishment is a long ways from criminal prosecution. But thanks for responding  cooldude

Your welcome, Meathead.  Tell that to those who've been prosecuted for mishandling top secret information.
Admin punishment is not a conviction of any sort. It is basically your employer suspending, fining, firing, etc. you. As I understand it she wasn't subject to that because she was no longer employed.

Isn't that convenient?   coolsmiley

Best case scenario,  Hillary's, "lack of technical sophistication" (i.e. stupidity) kept her from being prosecuted.  And that's if we give her the benefit of the doubt that she wasn't trying to hide something by using private devices and servers.

So, she's either extremely stupid or she's a criminal.  Neither are Presidential traits.

I'm curious. Was there this much outrage when Bush deleted twenty-two million emails? That's 22,000,000 for those of you that are counting. And those were from the time when this country was lied into war, which killed 4500 + Americans.

This is a serious question. I wasn't here back then, so I don't know what the tone of the board was at the time.

Funny, I've been looking, and I'm not coming up with too much to back this up. Just little snippets of info that kind of skirt around the issue. The nearest I can tell, only a very small portion have been found. It's being blamed on a 'filing error' bu a staffer.......uh huh....

Q: Did you wipe your server?  A: Like with a cloth or something?

No, they used BleachBit!

South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy says Hillary Clinton deleted emails "so even God couldn't read them" using BleachBit.

Apparently Hillary was shaking in her pantsuit at the thought of ANYONE getting into her private "yoga and recipes" emails.

Read all about it.

Oh, well if Trey Gowdy said it, it MUST be true.......the same Trey Gowdy that admitted to altering documents to try to frame Clinton...

Nice try.  Gowdy got the information from the FBI investigation notes.  He didn't make it up.

Didn't miss that.  Getting back to the point -- it doesn't make Hillary's BleachBit fit any less dubious.

Well, my friend. Seeing that this story just broke today, and the only hits are from those less than stellar news sources. I think I'll wait a few days to see how it pans out.

And I don't know what you're talking about with info from FBI files?

Friend?  Don't believe we've met, but I'm glad to have a new pen pal!
It looks like Trey was privy to some FBI information that you and I weren't -- imagine that!  I know you have difficulty with facts. Give it a few days to sink in.  You'll be alright.
