A question for fellow members in or near Ohio: The wife and I are blessed with three fabulous and responsible children. The middle daughter has had one awesome son (with her husband, I guess I should include him) and has a second child on the way. With our living in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, and THEM residing in Cincinnati , visiting little Nate has been a struggle, to say the least. We get out there about four times per year, and they get to us once or twice. Of course, we skype, but our hearts always ache a bit when you see the cute faces and you can't reach out and hug them. So, we've decided to make a BIG change, put the house up for sale and move closer to my daughter's growing family sometime in early to mid '17. My question is this: We are looking to live in the area just east of Cincinnati. (about 50 miles out) The area seems to be relatively level with considerable land involved with farming. The roads are straight or gently curving and the local State Parks are nice but unremarkable. I find the scenery pleasant enough, but the area we're in NOW has truly spoiled me and the asphalt hungry Valk. (six million acres of high peaks, forestland and spectacular lakes are hard to beat) I'd like to know from the locals in Southern Ohio, are there any truly inspiring roadways in Ohio within reach of the region we are considering? I know there won't be 5000 feet-plus high peaks. But, I'm talking impressive hills intersected by meandering roadways. And, if there is nothing really thrilling within a couple of hours, how far would I have to ride to get to some really satisfying scenery? Lastly, nothing here is written in stone. We are flexible as to where we resettle. So, if anyone has any suggestions as to alternate areas within two to three hours of Cincinnati, I would love to hear your suggestions. Thanks for any information and suggestions you might have. Mike in New York
