Hockey Town info.

Please correct me if I am wrong! I am trying to find what is fact and what is fiction. I pickup, bits and pieces of information, about the new hockey stadium and the Ilitch’s. From what I have gathered, is concerning the Joe Louis, the new stadium, and the Ilitch’s, it seems they have a monopoly on them, and the Michigan people will mainly be paying for it. While the Ilitch’s gain the profit from it and have complete control. Also when the new stadium is built, the Joe Louis can never be used for any activity and must be torn down ASAP. How close am I, hopefully I am wrong, was it media bull or was it close. Many of these so call projects in Detroit are being funded by Michigan tax payers with the premise that the tax payer will benefit from it, but with concessions like $8 for a beer and $5 for a hotdog it makes me think not.
