It has nothing to do with our Inzane event. I had a great time. I bought and sold a lot of parts and donated money where needed. I also gave away a lot of parts. I met a lot of new members and am in contact with some on a regular basic. Most know I stand behind what I sell. I sold a set of oem bags and mounting brackets and the buyer said he would send me a check. He did , $900.00 on his word. Parts to someone in Texas with a promise to pay several hundred dollars, check received. If money was not available at time of sale , I trusted the members to keep their word. I am very dis appointed in one member who I have sold to on prior occasions that bought a set of powder coated Cobra floor boards and said a check is on the way and now will not even have the courtesy to return a call or text. Y O U know who you are. If you can not afford the parts , just tell me. I am still willing to talk to you.

That sucks Ross. I guess nice floorboards ain't worth tarring and feathering the guy but a deal's a deal. You're showing more restraint than many would.

I guess I am surprised and sad that someone would behave that way.
All the transactions I have done with members have been smooth, easy and correct.
Best of luck on resolving the situation.

Yup-I KNOW of whom he speaks. The very FACT that a Brother rider would treat another Brother rider this way leaves me ALMOST-Not entirely-but almost speechless. I have NO idea how long my Brother-da prez-will keep the money owed persons name off our board but trust me when I tell you-NOT very long. NOT making my Brothers decisions BUT I have talked with my Brother when I read this post. And the truly sad part-we ain't talkin THAT much moola BUT a mans word is his bond-or so I was lead to believe. Wrong doer-you KNOW who you are-Man Up. RIDE SAFE.

It is very disheartening to have someone you should be able to trust do you that way.
I had something similar happen on another site for Tri Five Chevys when I had my 57. I had another member ask if anyone had an original air breather for a 57 that he needed one. I had a very nice one I had even powder coated it. he wanted it so I went ahead and shipped it to him. I never got paid, I waited a couple of months, still nothing. Eventually when I contacted him he said he had sent a check and acted surprised. It was all a big act.
This guy was one of those from the day he joined up was constantly having personal problems and needing others to come to his aid. At first I bought into his woes, loss of job, sickness, family issues, etc. he played them all. Again, at first I felt sorry for him but was cautious because he was over the top on most of the stuff he came up with. But a lot of members helped him out in different ways. Anyway, the capper was when he said his son, who he claimed to be disabled purebred dog died. He actually asked for donations because he said he wanted to replace his son's dog with another one just like it. He was asking for donations to reach a goal of $1,500.00. He even put a picture of a dog on the site.
I talked to the owner of the site and found out he had ripped off other people in the past. The owner had gotten several complaints. He contacted him and told him he had better pay up because he was just short of being banned. I got my money shortly after that. The site was too valuable to him to lose because his money pit would dry up. Funny thing is most people still buy into his scams and feel sorry for him.
Good Luck, Blake

True ... However unless he's dead he could have made some effort by now . If he's dead that's a great reason and the only one I can think of for not to be keeping one's word .

We ALL know that "what goes 'round, comes 'round". Also known as Karma Comeback. I always figured that if I get ripped-off like that then the expense justifies knowing that the person responsible WILL GET IT IN THE END. Ride safe, y'all and you best be looking for it, and you know who I mean.

It saddens me there are people who give their word and then don't hold up their end of the deal. Ross took a big chance on me and I wasn't about to let him down.
My word is my bond and I work hard to make sure that when a deal is closed with a handshake, that handshake is money in the bank.
BTW Ross, I LOVE the saddlebags you sold me. They are just outstanding!!!!
See you next Inzane!!!! In the meantime, be careful on the road.

I spoke to him after IZ16 several times. He said the check was in the mail. I have left several messages and last night I sent him a text. He was on the board recently , but will not respond. 24 HOURS TO A SHOUT OUT. I hate to do it. It is not the money , it's the trust. Many who have bought from me have gotten the parts shipped before I was paid. da prez

+1. Ross sold me a sissybar and passenger pad awhile back. If I remember correctly the hardware and money order crossed in the mail. Woody and I also did a parts switcheroo recently, and it worked like clockwork. Isn't that what is all about? If the perp doesn't fess up I jinx you like I did the Panthers' kicker last night. It works!

When I heard this I thought of the rider who went down on a ride from Johnson City that was going by Don & Tracy's place and then onto 16 Joe,Detn8er, Misfit, Hard6 and others were on that ride that day.
He ripped off Don if I remember correctly and has not been heard from since then to my knowledge
A shame when one's word aint worth the breath that uttered it
To me our word is all we have in the end
Call him out if its what you feel you should do, you dont owe any explanation to me or anyone here.

I think he has been contacted plenty already. He has made his bed in that he has now made it apparent he has no intent of paying for the parts. I am also one that lives by his word. I may forget once in a while but I do live by that and always make good. For that reason I do believe the person (not a man in my book) be named so that we know who he is and that he is not honorable.

I agree it's not very good practice to not abide by one's word. It's also very cool of da prez to do business this way, and it's a terrible thing if somebody is taking advantage of his trusting nature. However, I don't agree with publishing the guy's name -- it's between the two parties and I don't believe it's anyone else's business. The only exception would be if someone else is selling an item and wants to be sure they're not dealing with the offending party, and that can easily be communicated by PM. Just in case there are mitigating circumstances that we're not aware of. Just my two cents. Hopefully this gets worked out quickly.... and peacefully.

So we need to check with Ross in a PM before doing business with another member of this club that's BS . Unless the dude is dead , sick or dying then he stole from a trusted member of this club and if he doesn't show-up with a good excuse then he should be called out for what he is a thief .

And I pointed this out to Ross it's been damn near 3 months since Morgantown. Also as Ross pointed out to me It's not really the amount of money-It's that little thing called-Principle-Honor-Trust-Giving your Word-and again That "Trust" thing! Mitigating circumstances have passed the "plausible" stage-I M H O. We ARE a small community here-I'd rater keep and maintain the friendships I've built here. Sides-most of us ride Hondas-we are SPOSED to be nice people! RIDE SAFE.

I was called tonight. He changed companies and they said he could keep his old phone and info. They then switched carriers and no messages were forwarded. Then , his father took ill and he has been traveling to see him. We resolved the issue , and he realized that I did the right thing by posting the notice. I will not disclose his name and I apologize for starting such a mess. I will still continue to do business as usual. He is keeping his word . Family comes first.

Before ANYONE goes off half cocked after talking to Ross I found out I was WRONG. Specifically that the statute of limitations had NOT run out on the plausible. I will NOT go into details here but Ross touched on it-FAMILY FIRST. Let's just say had I been in the situation that was described to me I Might have missed a couple of due bills. FAMILY FIRST was-far as I'm concerned-THE reason for the mind slippage. Ross is happy with the outcome-ANYTHING else is pure speculation. Before rides before Motorcycles before git togethers before good sippin whiskey-FAMILY FIRST. RIDE SAFE.

there is often the side we do NOT see being the truth. Doesn't pay to jump to guesses unless see all sides of the story and get all the facts.
I did have though a deadbeat guy in town 1/2 mile away keep stating he will pay, he will pay, when he hit my new truck about 4 years ago dropping our kids off at school in my sons class as well. He lied to the local chief of police in town stating he had insurance which the cop did NOT do his job finding out (should have gotten a ticket for that at least and inattentive driving but NO fines from our barney phife local cop) and luckily knowing he did not come from money, got the chief to give me a police report. That saved me since needed that going to court and DMV some 10 months later ONLY owing me 1000 bucks to replace wiring harness and rear bumper since I bent back out the receiver hitch to almost perfect again. I kept calling him weekly after a few months of NO contact until he finally answered the phone telling me to quit bugging him. That was IT, I had enough and took him to small claims court after 10 months of non-payment and when he did not show up, he lost his case. That did not matter until I got the court judgment in my favor sent to DMV to get his drivers license suspended until he paid me in full to my satisfaction of amount on court order. He paid me a couple weeks later in full having to get out his 401k retirement money since he had no job, no insurance, and junker car at the time that hit me.

And I stand by my original statement -- I'm glad Ross showed enough restraint to keep the guy's identity private, but I'm happier that the situation is getting resolved. I'm in the middle of dealing with my own father's deteriorating health issues, getting him set up in long-term care and all the fun stuff that goes along with that. There's a lot of stuff I've let slide over the last three months; luckily personal purchases like this aren't among them, but I can easily see how something like this could happen quite innocently. If it had been me, I'd not be too happy if my reputation were being tarnished, but I'd also be extremely appreciative of the other party's patience. Anybody who's looking for blood here needs to consider this themselves -- it could have been you in some extraordinarily extenuating circumstances beyond your control. And I'm sure you too would have more than appreciated the consideration. Anyway, I'm glad there's resolution in sight and that no animals were harmed in the making of this production.

I have had a small handful of dishonorable people in my dealings with our community. One threatened to sue me when HE failed to follow instructions that were clearly spelled out in multiple places then wanted me to save his butt anyway. I tried working with him but he had no honor. This was last fall and you know who you are, Idaho. I fixed his problem at my expense just to get rid of him - and put him on my short crap list as a NEVER DEAL WITH jerk again. I have had my colleagues ask me to share the list but haven't. Yet. Had another man without honor - let's call him Bob (yep that's his name) - this spring gave his word, broke it for a handful of dollars, then held his position was defensible. And then began a vulgar email comm - I finally blocked his sender name but he made up a new one to continue, then threatened to come visit in person. Unbelievable. Yeah I carry always - both Mace and lethal - and crazies like this are the reason why. I don't know how some of these people sleep at night. As a colleague quoted another - he does the same thing - provides what the snakes he runs into want, just to get rid of them. They are a tiny minority but they are out there. These are people who have gone through life screwing everyone else and think that's right. I take some comfort in knowing karma exists. And one day, they will have to answer for their behavior. Meanwhile I won't serve them if I know what to expect from them in advance. Unfortunately, that's rare.
