Friday will take us on some back roads from Ossining then a few miles up route 9 before
moving up the goat trail, crossing the Hudson at Bear Mountain bridge, up the Park road to
hit Perkins Drive with a nice stop for pics at the top, then after coming down we will head back to
9W and go north a bit to walk the ruins of  Fort Montgomery
http://nysparks.com/historic-sites/28/details.aspx
which is above Fort Clinton  the cannons are way cool !
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Clinton

Between the huge chains stretched across the river and the various sizes of cannon, boat traffic moving up the Hudson was controlled until the British battle that you will read about from the signs along the paths.

This is an awesome place to contemplate the desperation of the defenders against terrible odds

then north to
take the Cliff Road past West Point (unless closed for falling rocks- that happens often)  the motorcycle museum in Newburgh NY  (if you like bikes especially Indians you will like this) then across the river down to Cold Spring east along 301 to 9W for BBQ !  Then east on 301 thru Fahnstock Park to Carmel and back roads along the reservoirs to 129 to the Croton Dam both the bottom and the top before  heading back

Smokinjoe these roads are in pristine condition, no potholes, a shame you missed this when you blasted thru to New England and had your innards shaken up

I cannot wait because it sounds like this is going to be a great time.  Where will you be leaving from Friday morning and what time will everyone be meeting up.  I will be riding up from Long Island and will be going home after Friday's ride.  I will be coming back up Saturday Morning with my wife and another couple.  We both have our rooms booked for Saturday night.

I was going to set 9am but since Baldo is also riding down Friday morning at 1st light lets call it 930 AOB

Leaving from 13 Tappan Terrace Briarcliff Manor NY 10510 ( you can set your GPS), which will make the Massachusetts men's ride shorter

my cell is nine14522008three  so text me when you are leaving

From long island I recommend the whitestone to the hutch to x county
then take sprain north  check traffic before you leave as if there are accidents on Sprain you can stay on x county and take 87 to the saw mill and pick up taconic at the split
After the split take the highspeed 9a/100 exit then at 2nd light make right on chappaqua rd 1st left Tappan Terrace
