We're seeking Valkyrie pictures for the 2017 VRCC Wall Calendars. We will not hold the search open for very long. We will close soon after we have about forty good entries. A panel of judges will vote on which twelve (or thirteen) will be a part of the 2017 VRCC Wall Calendar. We are looking for pictures of Valkyries with: A good looking Valkyrie (or F6B) in ther foreground and an attractive uncluttered background. No people. No luggage. Relatively high resolution so they don't blur when blown up to wall calendar size. Please send me one picture. If you have multiples considered it will lower the chances of one being agreed upon by multiple judges. If you send me more than one I will choose the best in my opinion and discard the rest. I prefer pictures that have not been well shown. Please no pictures that are in your avatar or signature on the board. With the picture please include your handle (username) and a location. The location can be either your own or the picture's. By sending the picture you agree to have the VRCC distribute it as part of the VRCC Wall Calendar for 2017. Send pictures to Willow.VRCC@gmail.com or vrccstaff@gmail.com. Pictures should be attached to the email. If your provider shrinks the photo to include it in the email it will ruin the resolution.

I know it's not anything I've seen in calendars since I began buying them, but would you consider some group shots, such as one from Inzane and/or a group shot from the rallies that have been held that show a lot of Valkyries, for the next calendar? It's radical - a departure - but was thinking about shaking up things. I'll buy my allotment either way.

It's a thought but I have tried to stay away from "busy" photos. It might be something that would be good for the "cover" shot.

Speaking of a radical departure, I wouldn't mind photos of Valkyries in action, but this would break the "no people" rule. I'd love to see a photo of a Valkyrie (and face-obscured rider) just over a crest in the road, with its wheels a couple of inches above the pavement, with a beautiful background. Perhaps something like this, except a Valkyrie against a prettier background: I know we have the riding and photography talent in our group to pull it off.

It looks like they're large enough at 2 and 3 MB. Don't drag your feet, guys. We're 45% to our goal in the first half day. Some good pix. Remember to include your handle and location. Pick your one best photo and you'll save me some work.

Dammit, my email doesn't want to work? I have a beauty of my bike sitting on Needles Highway with the Needles dead centered behind the bike. Also have a good shot of me rounding a corner on Iron Mountain Rd, the Valk is the only bike but since I wasnt wanting to ghost-ride it, my helmeted noggin is included.

LOL! Yes, I wouldn't want any pictures of a Valk in motion sans rider.

This was taken at the rally in Tucumcari in 2008. I think it's a classic.

Count me out. I ain't catching that much air with my Interstate. Yah, if you can catch that much air on an 800lb. cycle then usually something BAD is going to happen.

You don't have to get that far off the pavement. Two inches. One inch. Can we get half an inch? Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton

Oh, yes! It happens when you run over a deer carcass at hiway speed. Unfortunaely there will be no one there ready to photograph and it would probably have been too dim anyway.

Willow is correct, I hit a possum once doing about 60 mph, went airborne for about 14 feet, not sure how high but, it scared the living daylights out of me. The 14 feet was measured from the point of impact (blood marked pavement) to the black tire track/mark I left when I landed. You have to make an instantaneous decision some times as to whether to brake or roll the throttle. I rolled it. I may have only been a quarter inch off the ground but, it felt like 10 feet. And no, there was no photographer there to catch the moment.
