Know why they're laughing? They're saying to each other "hey bro, just wait until we're teenagers."   2funny

Great picture, I love listening to babies laughing. It's so real, so unfettered, melts the cold heart.  cooldude

I appreciate you guys letting me show them off. These guys came 3 months early and were so small they fit in their dads hand. They were in the hospital for 2 1/2 months before they could come home and I could hold them. Mom and Dad both work and my wife and I were in a position to offer full time child care for the twins so we get to be with them 5 days a week about 12 hours a day. One has just started to crawl and the other one isn't far behind so we have our hands full as it is. As challenging as it is for us at our age ,we sure miss them when we go home on the weekends. We have only the one son and we were beginning to think we might not ever be grandparents. We are trying our best to spoil them rotten, not with things but with  love and attention. I think it's working.

That sounds great.  Your son and DIL are very lucky to have you there to help when they really need it.

My grandparents raised me for a few years early on. Gramp was a farmer with about 100 head of cattle. My fondest memories are working the farm with him.

My granddad was a supervisor for the Texas Highway Dept. He used to take me with him inspecting roads and his workers. He was a great guy, I miss him a lot. I have no doubt the twins will feel the same about you John.  cooldude

I'm giggling just looking at the photo.

As has been mentioned, they're some lucky boys to have you and your wife to take care of them and you guys have an opportunity to do things you may not have been able with your own children.

Hug them and kiss them every day. Takes naps with them for as long as you can.

I too grew up with my paternal grandparents and I know it means very much to me.

I lost my mother before I was 2 and was bounced around some within the family but most of my time for a couple years was spent with my grandmother, grandfather and great-grandmother. Typical Italian family. There are many things I can say about this experience, but one thing I love when it happens is when I hear stones/sand under a pair of leather dress shoes. My grandfather use to take me for walks in his neighborhood and always wore dress shoes and I still remember the distinct sound his shoes made as we walked down the street holding hands.

God bless and enjoy it

Excellent Pic John.   Those are some lucky grandkids you have there.  They have you and your lady to help care for them.    As we all know, they grow up way to fast.   Enjoy them.

Ya know, the more I look at that pic, the more I see the resemblance.   They look just like you do every time you throw your leg over that Valkyrie.   You get that same look on yer face.   Heck, looks like they are practicing mounting.

Hide the keys John or your Valkyrie may not be stored long......................

Congrats! What a great picture.
I only have one son as well and know I will never be a grandparent. He is too much of a loner.
Enjoy and share pics once in a while. That brought a bright spot to the morning.

My grandparents were very much involved in my childhood, especially the summers. My own son did not get to spend much time with my parents due to distance, always hated that. He did get to spend some time with my wife's parents, but their health did not allow for doing much of what a child was interested in doing.

The world would be a much better place if the kids had more opportunities to absorb some of the grand parents wisdom. These kids even have a great grandmother, as my mother is alive and doing good. She is 90 miles away from the boys but I have brought her up a couple of times for a visit. Soon the boys will be able to go to her house.
