Had to take my son to the hospital an they transfered him to another Hosp. Because of a possible heart attack. They had given him at the 1st. Hosp. 3 Nitro's an 2 shots of morfine so by the time he got to the 2nd Hosp he was fairly calm an was given a  full ultrasound an decided to give him a nuclear stress test in the morning but later some number jumped up an my heart Dr. took him in for a angiogram an called me an said they were giving him a stint in the main artery 80% plugged an another small one they couldn't fix.   By the time we got to the Hosp. again he was just about done with surgery.  Son is  only 37.  And he is home with us now.         We  have a lot of heart disease with the men in the family  that goes way back so I got a bit worked up.                                       I had a couple one morning an drove my self to the Hosp. after taking my wife to work an 4hrs later to be awarded with a quad bypass and learning I had a heart attack some time earlier in life but I didn't know that. Barely made it to Insane that year.   This spring i was having heart pain for a couple months an found one out one of the arteries that was fixed 12 years ago is plugged butee the other 3 are fine now I'm having minor issues again with the same pain by milder t it was in th e sring so I'm going to wait to see my family Dr. And have my 6mo. tests on the 28th.

Holy crap! I'm glad to hear your son is back home, I hope he makes a full recovery.

It must be very scary to have that always in your mind....

Best thoughts going your way, Greg.

UP kinda sucks. Its the girls in the family that are lucky, only  one cousin was born with holes in her heart and lived till I think 43 and my sister has a pacemaker.

Holy cow, 37 and 80% blocked, wow that's terrible. It sounds like things calmed down a little and he will be ok.

Best of wishes to you guys.

family genes can suck or be great, cannot unfortunately change sometimes what your family history might have in store for you.

but,  37 is way too young to have these type of issues for sure.  I can see age 45 on up since know a guy mid 40's having same exact blockage issues with his heart and now pancreas attack, but under 40 is more rare.  He had stints put in and lost some weight as well afterwards and is doing better.

Am sure he thinks he is invincible so please remind your son to take an easy and not overdo anything.  Me doing yardwork, etc. for say 3-4 hours straight in mid 40's have to take a 10-20 minute break simply because more than anything else I am tired and need to drink a glass of water.  Problem is, once I sit down, I do NOT want to get back up and go back to working outside in the yard, etc....   I have come to appreciate a 1 hour nap from time to time as well does wonders sometimes.   cooldude
