Anyone running this rear on the front of a Valkyrie?

Bridgestone Battlax BT023 Sport Touring Rear Motorcycle Tire

It comes in a size 190/50ZR-17

I'm currently running a Dunlop 404 and it is the noisiest thing I ever encountered.

If you're not running the above, what are you running as a rear on the front?

Tried Avon's AM26 Roadrider & absolutely hated it!
Was only on 3k, almost pushed out from under me 3 times!
Third time was with Sugar on a damn near straight road I've ridden a thousand times.
Rode straight home & waited on new Metz to arrive (only time I ever "parked" the Valky).
You couldn't GIVE me another one uglystupid2

Michelin Pilot Activ, no complaints as of yet but I only have about 12k on it.

Dunlop D404. 4k so far without any issues. Yes, the arrow points to the rear.

Austone Taxi tire on rear.

Would that tire even fit up front ? 190 seems pretty wide.

I run the Battlax on my Triumph Thunderbird Sport (front and back in factory sizes)... half the bike of the Valk, but the tires are doing great.  Good grip wet or dry, quiet, and wearing well.

So, not exactly what you were asking, but at least info on the tire.    cooldude

Battlax BT45R rear on the front of 1984 V65 Sabre.
120/80-18 has outlasted everything else I have put on it.
On its second rear, will outlast it and maybe a third.
Lots of tread still on the tire, will probably sidewall check before worn out.

Some patterning in the tread.
No handling or braking issues.

I have a d404 as well and at about 8k miles i have alot of tread, but alot of noise, little cupping, and front tire vibes in the corners from the cupping.

I like how it handles though, so i will do another tire that size, just not that brand.

I am running the Battlaxe T30R 170/60-17 up front, arrow pointing to the rear and a 205/55-16 Proxes R1R out back. I love mine and just tore the twisties up and down Yarnell Hill on Sunday. Let me know if you try that 190/50...
Here's my back tire:

I've got 8000 miles on a reversed rotation rear Michelin Pilot Active bias ply.

Really like it. Brakes harder, no difference in rain, and feels secure on road. Is not noisy.

Sorry to revive an old thread but what size did you run on the front?
I'm trying for the largest size possible with no fender rub.
(I'm going to run a Toyo R1R 205/55 16 on the rear).
  Thanks

Cracker,  did you install that rear tire on front or have a dealer do it?  I was going to go that route but 3 of my local dealers in WI refused to do it for me.

My dealer puts anything on!

Take wheel off, and take it and replacement to dealer. Tell them it is for trike, and that is what trike mfg wanted. Might work.

Running a Conti Go rear reversed on the front of the trike, several  years, no complaints, got the idea from Dan in NJ, who runs one on his 2 wheeler. Can look up the size, if you're interested..

+1 for the Michelin Pilot Activ M/C rear on the front reversed. Very happy so far. Used to run Cobras. Run Battlax BT 45 on the front of my GL1800. Another nice tire.

I am running the Battlaxe T30R 170/60-17 up front...might try a 190/60 though. Here's a pic of the front...the fender will fit with this tire, I just dont run with fenders.

Had a Battlax BT-45 (beefy tread pattern) on the Bullet, reverse mounted.  Handling was fine, but it cupped out on me with plenty of rubber left.  Went back to a Cobra for now.  I'm strongly considering the Pilot Activ next time around.

I just found an Avon Cobra 190/60-17 is available...that will be the one I try next...have to get cleared to ride...I am about 6 weeks out from the accident and about 4 weeks from surgery...and the Valk is in the garage and the wrecked bike is still at the dealer....got too much time on my hands

Hope you heal up quick.

I see from your earlier post in this thread, you removed the engine guards from your Bobber.

I'm running a D404 reversed on my Bobber front and I'm getting a little bounce from it at high speed WFO accel.  Enough to make me slow down some and check my tighty whities (not really, stopped wearing those decades ago, but the pucker factor is pretty high)

I've got progressive springs in front and stock rear shocks with a G-max 195-55-16 on the rear.

Going to start messing with different tire pressures, see if it makes a diff.

I was wondering if the lack of a front fender makes a difference?

This is my 3rd D404 and the others are awsome, but their on the full up Tourer baggers, tipping the scale at close to, or over, 850lbs.

This stripped down Valk is a lot lighter, gonna have to take a trip to the truck scale soon.

I think if I lived anywhere else than the desert southwest, I would ave a fender of some sort on it...I love the look.
