John and Donna hosted a BBQ at their house North of Prescott, AZ yesterday. We had riders from Ca, NV and AZ show up. My thanks to both of them for the gathering. Here's some toy pics. I thought about trying for a group shot, but too much socializing was going on.

Envy is smacking me in the face.   Wish I could have attended.

What year is that old Army Jeep?

I'm not sure Ron. John was busy cooking for all us heathens. I didn't get a chance to ask him about it. Then later when we had lunch I forgot about it. If I was to guess, I'd say the Willys is about 1942 and the Jeep 1955. But that's just a guess. He also had 3 real nice period trailers to go with them.  cooldude

My guess would have been late 40s but not sure.   Just about everything that was in Europe during WWII was left there.   That doesn't mean it wasn't one that never made it overseas but, the chances are, it's a post war version.    Having the associated vintage trailer would make it even more collectible.   Again, envy smacks me on the forehead.   crazy2

This was a stop on our ride Saturday . It was pretty interesting. I didn't even know it was there.

I look forward to the day we can join Y'all out there in AZ. As I stated in another thread, I have lived in Northern Indiana my entire life and I fell in love with the Prescott area when we had the VRCC rally there many years ago. My wife at that time had no interest in moving west but it has always been in my mind. Fast forward 15 years, new wife, new life and I took her out to Prescott last New Years week and she loved it.

We are on probably a two year plan to get things taken care of in Indiana before leaving. I am 56 and no interest in retiring, but I would like to finish out my working years at something I loved, and Ruger Firearms is right there in Prescott. My hope is that I can find a position in some capacity with them.

We spend Christmas every year in SoCal with our VRCC family Rob an Daryl and Mark and Lynn from CAT and I hope to sneak over to AZ for a few days this Christmas time as well. The summer of 2017 we plan on taking a week and spending it in the area during July so we can experience what it is like  when it is hotter out there. From what I can see Prescott is always 15 degrees or more cooler than the Phoenix area, but we want to make sure we have a clearer picture of what we are getting ourselves into.

Looks like a great time was had by all!
