I am home and recovering from surgery .
Got home about 6:30 pm and went right to bed.
Woke up in same position I laid down.
Have some pain and have the usual bag hanging
from parts that will not be mentioned .
If this is all there is then I can do this. It is
much easier than having your guts cut open and sawed back together .

Glad to learn this.   It'll get better with time and healing.

Rest, recover and get well Dave.    cooldude

Sounds like you are handling things as well as could be expected. I think we met at the bike wash in Spearfish. Hopefully we will meet up again soon. Take care.  cooldude

You will feel a lot better in a week when that catheter comes out.

I had the same surgery May 17 and still was able to ride, barely able, at Inzane in June.  The surgery was not what caused my most difficulty early on.  They told me to take 2 dulcolax stool softeners every day after the surgery.  That was not a good suggestion.  I figured that out by the time about 3 inches of my colon was turned wrong side out and hanging outside that part of my body that meets the chair when sitting.  I used to hate prunes.  Now I just dislike the taste of them.  They do the job without putting internal anatomy where it should not be.  Maybe that info will save you some discomfort.

They got all the cancer out of me.  I am hoping they did the same for you.

Take it easy, and don't over do it.  I had the radical Prostate surgery, and had the catheter for a month.  Shortened it to above the knee, and did all kinds of stuff with the bike including riding until I noticed the bag turning red with blood.  Shut me down in a hurry, and believe me was such a relief that I got over it with no more problems.  Been since early 2004, and PTL no further problems with it.  Prayers for best possible on the way up.
