I would just like to thank all you guys who have posted about the dreaded Hydrolock.Yes its real it happened to me. However because of you guys describing the clunking noise I stopped and did not push the starter button again. Pulled spark plugs and shot gas all over my garage. Was not thinking should have done outside.  Found out petcock was bad with a little help from 3Wlonerider on the phone Thanks again Rick. Ordered my new pingle petcock # 1311-ch. Thanks for the that info pulled it up on the forms.  Hope all is going well with everyone it has been a busy time for me and I have not been able to keep in touch with a lot of you. However I am always thinking  and praying for my Valkyrie brothers and Sisters.

Nor have we forgotten about you.

Glad you didn't push that starter button again.   Should be an interesting time in DC the next few months.   Watch yer Six.

Well, what about the carbs.  You need to order new floats and needle valves

Was very lucky a few years ago. After an accident that had my Valk upside down foe a few hours before being impounded due to me being in the hospital I got it home and it sat for a week before I could tend to it.When my son-in-law picked it up the night of the acc. he tried to start it to load onto a trailer. It would not start and he stopped and with help got it loaded and to my home. I tried to start it and it went clunk so I stopped. a few weeks later a friend pulled the plugs and yup hydrolock and gas all over the garage. We were lucky there was no ignition source in the garage or boom. When the valk in on its side for any reason expect hydrolock.

Pete I did not see your question . I thought the answer I typed before it had not gone through. After further inspection it looks like I have both a a bad petcock and a stuck float in #4 cylinder. Pulled tank and with petcock in off position gas is still coming out. I'm going to pull carbs and replace needles. Can anyone give me part # and I would like to put # 38 slow jets in that was recommended. Would like know where to get them

A couple sources.

You should swap out the intake o-rings while you're at it.

Do a search on You-tube.  Lots of helpful vids on carb work.

Also make sure that the vent passages and hoses are working properly, not stopped up.

They are supposed to vent the gas out instead of into the cylinder when you have a float valve failure.
