been there, done that,  glad I am not the only one to admit doing that several times.

or, been in 4th gear doing 60 mph for awhile finally realizing I have a 5th gear still on the hwy.

There are times I'm rolling along, pretty sure I'm in the top gear but because it's so tourquey, I'll just ease the shifter up to see if there is any slack. Just to make sure. That doesn't count as trying to shift, kinda of like a batter taking a half swing at a pitch Wink

The Brit bikes weren't as optimistic.  It was one up, then the rest down on the old Bermans.. Wink

And my BSA Lightning had the foot brake and shifter reversed from today's universal positions.

When I changed bikes, I kept mashing down my shifter instead of my brake for about 4 months.  crazy2
