Wow,  we had the most kids show up today in the last 23 years living here.  Guessing pushing 140 kids most of them from 2:30-4 p.m. with hours 2:30 to 5:30.  Almost 8 full bags of mini candy bars between 15-20 in each variety of bag.  Could be off somewhat since some of the little _hits took 2 candy bars while one decided it was o.k. to take a handful of about 5.   Told him to put some back yet he kept walking even right in front of his dad who did not say too much either.  Whatcha gonna do?

Reason was a Saturday and pushing 70 out, no wind, and sunny first time like that I can remember usually rainy/drizzly and in 30 or 40 degree temps this time of year.  Had to stay home not ride cycle for the wife and high schooler had to go around town to do the yearly canned food drive for the food pantry nearby.   I guess I could have just sat the big bowl of candy bars on the front step and went riding the VAlk?  uglystupid2

Reason why trickortreat hours are so early at 2:30 is they have going on still until 10 p.m. school sponsored halloween events going on at the K-12 school for the little ones as well at 5:30-10 p.m.

Hard to believe almost NOv. 1st and pushing 70 and sunny still and all of next week as well into the 60s for temps.

Yah,  the midwest overall surely has been a nice, warm fall for sure overall.  I did have to break down finally, but only for now 4-5 days,  turn the heat on in our house mid October since dipped into the low 30's for a few nights waking up to 61 degrees in the house being a tad bit chilly.

Yep, still wearing shorts and a t-shirt all the time until the highs hit into the mid to lower 40's which has only been just a few days colder than that so far.

I think there is something though to a layer of fat on my body since my wife lost 50lbs. as well as my kid (not me though..  Cry)   they complain they are colder in the house or outside than I am.

I do think though halloween is a few days tad bit early as well as too early all daylight hours.   We never even bothered with a jackolantern since will not show lit up anyways in full sunny daylight hours.  When kids were younger we planted pumpkins and usually got 8-10 for the kids to gut out and carve up lineing the entire driveway at night with lit up jackolanterns.

With over 120 kids for our town of 1100 people,  am sure there had to be some out of towners showing up as well since we never had ever over say 100 kids ever before.  I heard a lot of parents ran out of candy at 4 p.m. or so even though most were from 2:30 to 4 p.m. showing up, prime fall hours for me to be riding....  Cry
