Always loved this one.  When Karen Carpeter sang it with her angelic voice it was a match made in heaven.

I seen him several times I believe at the Grande Ballroom and for sure at the Eastown Theater with Joe Cocker.  Also he has played on the river in Mt Clemens Mi. several times, good show, I liked his music in the earlier days, in the present days he kind of lowered the tempo in his music.

"Mad Dogs and Englishmen Tour" was one for the ages; those boys and girls ripped it up before the term was ever coined. Cool.  I don't think anyone died, but almost...Joe claimed his legendary status forever on that tour.  Much riotous fun and fanaticism was had by those in the show.  Check out the movie; you won't be disappointed.

I do believe that my buddy, Mike, greeted Leon at the gate; now the two of them are playing hot piano for the angels.

Thank you, Leon, well done and rest easy. angel

Had the extreme pleasure of 1 performance in a small hotel setting ( maybe 200 people ) in Palm Springs in the late 80s.  Just Leon and a piano belting out tune after tune.  Always saying Tank you after each song.  RIP.  A lot of the older greats been passing over that past couple of years.

I knew Leon personally and professionally.
Managed his Michigan and surrounding area security and bookings for a long time. I was a fan before I worked with him. His career was really down for a long time. He was forced to play many out of the way, low pay gigs, just to get by until his recent teaming with Elton John that brought a resurgence to his music. Many people that never heard of him were none the less familiar with his music because he played on EVERYONE'S albums, often uncredited. He was in ill health for many years, for a variety of reasons. A true star. He WILL BE missed. RIP.

Never had the fortune to meet him, but loved his music. We lost a magic man.
