Anyone here besides my Brother and I catch the Trump interview tonight on C B S-60 minutes? I thought he was rather articulate and calm in the interview. Lesley was attempting to push and change direction midstream but Mr. Trump wasn't letting her. Never heard him raise his voice and I M H O came across rather well. In fact you-well I-thought he came across as Presidential. And before anyone asks-NO-didn't agree with everything he said-BUT maybe 94%  95% of what he said. RIDE SAFE.

The honesty. openness and caring were obvious not only from him but also from his family. I found it so refreshing from the usual interviews of the current admin and thought back to the Kennedy years when the nation and people not select groups were important.

He refused the pay for the position of President, I found that refreshing

The kids endorsed him doing the job of president and felt he could turn things around.

He did not worry about the Trump brand and said the job of President was the most important thing.

This kind of talk was the balm that the country needed, it serves to unite and he was very clear on his points even saying he had not made decisions in some areas.

It was so nice to hear this kind of talk. I am so relived he is in.

He affirmed second amendment rights and the defense of the Constitution.

Very interesting and refreshing to learn this.   Didn't see the interview but wish I had.
What I am interested to learn is what President Elect Trump's opponents thought about the interview.   coolsmiley

I watched last night.  In most part a fair interview although of course she tried going places and he deferred to something else.  Loved it when he said he was not going to tell his plan for Isis as in you do not tell your enemy what you will do.  She tried to get him on the wall part because in some areas there will probably be a fence.  His supporters, me being a big one, never took him literally as there would be another great wall of China.  In this day and it is enough to secure that border using a variety of means.  It has worked well in Hungary of late to keep the hoards out.

I thought he was dead on. He answered and finished his thought even when she tried to change the subject.  His children were right on and will continue the business. Getting this country back in order is his prime goal.

I thought it was a god interview, but, as usual, slanted.

He was asked about the racial attacks and rants by supposed Trump supporters but she didn't mention the attacks on Trump supporters before and after the election by Clinton and Bernie Supporters.  No mention of the man who was dragged out of his car, beaten and kicked and had his car stolen while they yelled "He voted for Trump".

They just can't help themselves.

And what's remarkable is, Trump overcame all of this.  Negative stories were 90:1 against him for over a year.  Thank goodness half the voters saw through it.

And he is only going to take a dollar a year for his salary, mostly symbolic but it tells you where his head is at. Also said he's not planning on many vacations, there is just too much work to do! His tone bodes well for all Americans, no matter which way you lean, there should be something for everyone. I liked Dave Chapelle's comedy mono log. He said he was asked by some friends if he was leaving and going to Canada and he says, naw dog, I'm good, I'm going to hang around for those tax cuts, see how that works out.

Donald Trump is not normal. I refuse to normalize him. He, his policies, and the men he has tapped for cabinet positions are dangerous.

The telling fact is that Manhattan, his home, the people who know him best, voted
86.3 vs 9.8 AGAINST him.

To ignore all he has said and done, means either you share his beliefs or you chose to
ignore them. Not sure which is worse.

This will be my last political post. Just had to say my piece.

Trump apparently is looking for opposite views at the head of the table, one who
is not afraid to speak his mind but may be an anti-semite and one who is even further to the right

I'm willing to see how it plays out, it just may be brilliant strategy to use top Republican insiders to get the pulse of the Congress in order to push thru his agenda. Many here in NY are pretty damn scared though and Obama needs to put his big boy pants on and calm the citizens off the ledges

This is the problem, no matter what Trumps position is no  matter what he does or tries to do. Why don't you go out into the streets and protest instead of seeing what he does and give him a chance. Very unfair, very negative, very condemning, not anyway accepting and not politically correct as has been preached time and time again and all the liberals said we have to be tolerant.

I'm not a math genius but doesn't spending more than you take in equal bankruptcy? Not that the $400000.00 salary he turned down will have any effect on the U S of A budget but not even in office yet and already cutting expenses!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Or, those of us who voted against Hillary considered her a worse option.

Let me put it this way, I had to suck it up the last eight years while Obama tore this country up.
I sincerely doubt that Trump can undo all that damage but, I'm willing to give him the opportunity to try.   And, I don't even like him.   I sincerely wish, either party had provided us with better choices.

If I was working on Wall Street, a banker, a lobbyist or a speculator, I would have voted against him, too.  Much as Manhattan did.  They liked the cozy relationship with Secretary Clinton and had paid good money for her.  Now that investment is lost.  So it goes.

And it would have been the same vote margin, if the candidate had been Cruz or Rubio or (fill in the blank).

Manhattan can piss up a rope.   Grin  (so can all cities)

You want to talk NOT NORMAL.... that's the ZERO, all the way!!!!
(Not normal, not rational, not fair, not reasonable, not trustworthy, not truthful, not honest, not even a fan of our country or the troops or the common working man)

And best of all, in a few weeks, he will not be our president.  And BTW, Zero's net worth has risen 438% since running for president, according to financial disclosure reports.

A Breibart article saying that the Chief Editor isn't anti-Semitic ?  Like I said, I don't know enough about the guy to say whether he is or not. But if you are in charge and you put out some of the stories he has, there is a problem.

I watched the interview and I'd have to agree - the Trumps put on a good , calm picture of a family who worked together to get Donald elected, and the kids will run the businesses while Dad is president.  I'm willing to give him a chance. I may not agree with everything he had to say, or some of his policy positions, but that's life. Maybe it won't be as bad as I thought it might. Smiley

I do wish him well and good luck - he's going to need it.

I say if he is anti-Semitic and he tries to assert his view, he won't last long. He wasn't elected, he serves at the pleasure of the President.

Charles Krauthammer  just said on Fox News that Bannon's daughter is Jewish, his grandchildren are Jewish so I doubt that the anti-Semitic label is valid.

Interesting? Many of his immediate family are Jewish. Don't think he would put someone right next to him if they were antisemitic. In  Netanyahu's congratulatory message to Tump he looked almost like he wanted to stand up a yell yaaaa hooo!!!!! He had a smile so big it probably wrapped 360. Smiley

I find the left views that Bannon is some kind of anti semitic both amusing and absurd.  Donald's closest advisor and most trusted is Jared Kushner, a Jew, and his wife, Ivanka Trump who converted to Judaism, case closed.  No what they fear is Bannon is an anti establishment guy who wants to Drain the Swamp.  And since they can not go against that for political reasons it is much easier to revert to the standard retort of racist and phobics.  Some things never change.

No.

Reasonable people think the state of abortion in this country is like the Holocaust.

The "renegade jew" article was written by a fellow named Horowitz, he spends most
of the article associating Billy Crystal with the Democrats and ends with:

I am a Jew who has never been to Israel and has never been a Zionist in the sense of believing that Jews can rid themselves of Jew hatred by having their own nation state. But half of world Jewry now lives in Israel, and the enemies whom Obama and Hillary have empowered — Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbollah, ISIS, and Hamas — have openly sworn to exterminate the Jews. I am also an American (and an American first), whose country is threatened with destruction by the same enemies. To weaken the only party that stands between the Jews and their annihilation, and between America and the forces intent on destroying her, is a political miscalculation so great and a betrayal so profound as to not be easily forgiven.

The headlines in the earlier link weren't bad enough for you ?

Like I said earlier. I really don't follow the guy that much. The articles I have read from Breitbart over the years have been pretty slimy. So I tend to stay away from there. I have an idea it's more sensationalism than actual racism on his part. Although his ex-wife testified that he didn't want his kids going to school with Jews.

Yes, that testimony from the Ex-Wife is particularly damning. Can't possibly question the Ex-Wife's motives here.

Maybe, but I would think any lawyer worth a damn would tell his client not to lie in a deposition. Maybe say you don't know or don't remember, but I think a lawyer would explain the consequences of lying under oath.

A little off topic but I was wondering if Bill And Hilliarys  lawyers explained all that to them?
