Surprise, surprise, surprise its amazing how the rats scatter.

Angela Merkel and nearly every other national leader in Europe are in a panic because of Trump’s unexpected win in the Presidential election.

Why?

Because, money, of course. The US money that props up NATO may be coming to an end.

During his election campaign, President-Elect Trump described NATO as obsolete.

    “NATO is something that at the time was excellent. Today, it has to be changed. It has to be changed to include terror. It has to be changed from the standpoint of cost because the United States bears far too much of the cost of NATO.” (source)

NATO should be revisited.

It's the UN that ought to be kicked out of the US, and our contribution reduced to that of Portugal.

And the State Department needs a big housecleaning (and budget cut).

And.....boy, I can't wait.

um let me see here. wurkin from memory here so cut me a wee mite o slack. wasn't it zeros and the beasts intention to disarm us thru the u n? I had NO idea we were on the hook fer 73% of the u n funding. I know I are but one voice in the cold time sans sunshine and here is my suggestion-we-The U S of A-cut their-u n -funding by 99.5 % and take that n y property back. Better yet cut ALL U S of A funding and just kick their collective asses outa n y. Maybe russia or n korea will pick up the franchise. oh-wait-maybe china-they got most every ones money. RIDE SAFE.

Dennis, that article says we fund 73% of NATO (not the UN).

I'm the one who brought up the UN (World Socialist Organization).  The U.S. (you and I) currently pays 22 percent of the U.N. regular budget, and more than 27 percent of the U.N. peacekeeping budget.

I like NATO much better than the UN.  But, times have changed in Europe.  After WWII, they were flat broke.  They are doing better now; they even got married (though the UK got a divorce).  It's always better to fight your wars in other people's countries, but the Iron Curtain is mostly gone, and a Soviet invasion seems unlikely these days.
