Interesting discussion on evolution.  Up to date science has pretty well proven that micro evolution is not possible.  If one does still hold to Darwin's full theory of evolution he would be exposing his own lack of knowledge of most current science.

People will choose to believe what they choose to believe.  They will generally do so whether the proof supports or denies what they want to believe.

It was more a response to the whole thread, Willow. I was just returning your quote.

That would explain my oft felt offense.  You don't use a message board as it's expected to be used.  Including a quote in one's post indicates that one's replay is specifically directed to the quoted text.  If an exchange of multiple posts is quoted the reply is indicated to be in response to the most recent post quoted.

Thanks for the tutorial.....I'll keep it in mind. Sometimes I'm a bit quick in hitting the post button..... Wink

Just watched a video of Mr. Pence.
He stated, in his own video, that while all that awfully booing was going on, he said to his daughters:
Hear that?  That's the sound of freedom
He further stated that he was not
Let's say that again
He further stated that he was NOT OFFENDED.

All you Trumpers can come out of your safe space now and realize that political people are subject to this.  It's called free speach, and sometimes it's not complementary.  Get over it as its not going to stop.

Don't believe the point is that Trump supporters were offended.
It was just pointing out the classless nature of the cast and placing it next to a class act.

No one is offended. But this has gotten to be like the kid in the toy store that wants the toy the parents  won't buy and the kid, knowing perfectly well that he doesn't deserve it, throws a ridiculous and totally annoying, embarrassing tantrum.

We're not offended, just want these folks to grow the hell up. You're not gonna get the toy.

I don't really like Trump, I voted against Clinton though.

#notmypresident?
Does that mean it's not your flag, your military, your constitution, not your country?    Roll Eyes
I didn't like much President Obama gave us, but whether I liked it or not, he was our President.

Had to put up with Obama for the last 8 years as our President, I figure you can put up with Trump for a few.    Most likely Pence after that.   Wink   The pendulum was due to swing back to the other side, almost always does when one party or person has been in office for 8 years.

Know nothing about you but, I'd suggest you prepare for a long four years with that attitude.    Me, I'd much rather face the unknown path Trump might take us on versus the down hill spiral Clinton espoused to us.    Although I doubt we'd have actually taken that path, why would she start telling us the truth now.  Wink

So when are you moving out of the country? I do know where there is a plane that will take you anywhere you want to go with a one way ticket.  cooldude

Also handling a situation correctly and well, speaks to the intelligence and decorum of the man, Putting him into that situation at all, speaks of the ignorance, and lack of compassion. The cast said they had one shot, it would have been so nice to care about another individual to be gracious and caring and not put him in the spot to have to answer.

I hope one day when someone who has these actors and producers lives in their hands and thinks to himself, I have one shot to show this person something that they would reflect on this incident.

Ya Think?

Quote
On Thursday, Judge John Primomo told the diverse group about Donald Trump's election victory, "I can assure you that whether you voted for him or you did not vote for him, if you are a citizen of the United States, he is your president. And he will be your president and if you do not like that, you need to go to another country."
http://www.aol.com/article/news/2016/11/20/judge-at-citizenship-ceremony-go-to-another-country-if-you-ca/21610332/

As I posted previously, not your President, not your military, not your flag, not your country?

One party gave us Clinton, then Obama and then wanted another Clinton.    The silent and often over looked group finally took a stand and said, enough is enough.    The election was  the closest I've ever come to voting a straight line ticket.   Opportunity abounds in this country if one only seeks it out and puts in some effort.   I'm sick and tired of the "entitlement" folks.   I'm tired of pulling my own weight and the burden of others who have yet to pull their weight.    I'm tired of celebrities telling us that we need to do something when they preach a interesting sermon and yet fail to pay up when the plate is passed.    I'm tired of crooked politicians who's only interest is staying in office.

There are a lot of things I'm tired of and most of them relate to the Democratic Party Platform.   The Democrats have been playing to all the micro groups with economic incentives, with entitlements and promising more if they get elected.    This election has proven that the forgotten folks carrying the load understand and have not forgotten who those elected officials work for.    The Dems need to do some soul searching and think about what they've become and how to get back to the middle.    IF the Dems want my support, then show me that they understand personal responsibility and accountability and some integrity.   I'm not suggesting the Republicans are saints by any means but, the Dems have demonstrated their lack of intent for quite a while now.   For them, it's not about what's good for this country but, what's good for Dems.

I don't believe that just because something came from the Republicans it's, a good idea.   I also don't believe that all Democratic ideas are bad but, most of the crap Dirty Harry, Nancy Pelosi, Jessi Jackson and Barbara Boxer have spewed is pure bullshit IMHO.   YMMV.

#notyourpresident?   Then, I suggest you take the judge's advice.

Amen to that, Rams cooldude

At this point, i have lost all respect for the Democratic party and what it stands for. Now there is talk about another even  FARTHER LEFT politician taking over the reins of the party.  I hope that the more moderate Democrats (if there are any left) refuse and bring the party back closer to center.  If not, we will have four more years of-obstinate do nothing in Congress.

This thing about not my president really urks me on so many levels

Lets see if a cop stops you and harasses you does that mean hes not a cop or your cop

If you dont like your water bill does that mean its not your municipality?

If for the 200 years elections have been happening and the losing side has always accepted the new admin, you cannot do the same and call yourselves citizens

By admitting not my pres you are dividing the very country you want to unite behind your ideas.

By not my pres, you are putting yourself at odds directly with all those who voted for the opposing side. In effect almost spitting in my face and all those who voted Trump.

What if he turns out to be the best president, despite the curse of not my pres what are you going to do then?

Not my president, is as destructive as the knock out game, remember that one?

By doing this we find liberal ideology is one of terrorism and threats and non acceptance and non respect and name calling of the people who are in government. What ideology have we heard that from before that issue threats and blows people up unless they get their way and fights in the street and doesnt respect the rule of law in the occupied country?

Blatantly lecturing the VP from the stage, priceless, when they dont even know who he is.

Not my pres is like putting a leg cuff on a winning horse, casing it to loose the race.

Not my pres is such a divisive and negative term of non support and separation it speaks only one word  REBELLION. Just like the child that says no to his parent or the protesters that burn down buildings and loot in their own neighborhoods causing a blight all the time blaming everyone else for their problems.

First it was whitey was no good then it was the man then it was police then it was rules on drugs and freedom then it was, not my president.

The world is still here after all this time of negative focus, I wonder what would have happened if we had taken all this negative energy and used it for constructive change?

Dramatic YES, not my president should be answered with, not our citizen. cooldude

You measly mouth little sobs have caused a divide and wounded the very fabric of the country that should be healed by that line.

OH wait maybe a tinge of Hypocrisy that I can call to everyone's attention he says in his heart.

Sorry I have personally not heard them saying that and they have not made a movement of it or lectured the current pres in front of everyone. OH wait that must be a liberal trait, and while were at it no I don't consider one or two saying it on the same level as a mass protest and people causing havoc in the streets. Not to mention I didn't see them burning cars and stopping cars on major roadways and disrupting peoples lives. But you will probably equate them as the same thing, right?

But I can tell you that I watched and gritted my teeth at every moment this current pres was in office and taking money out of my pocket to help others, aka Obama care and you guys did NOTHING TO CORRECT OR STOP IT.
So where were you when that bit of inequality was forced on us? I did not hear a peep unlike now that high minded types such as yourself seem to want to find every bit of hypocrisy and point it out.

Where were you when the banks get 0 interest and we pay 12 to 25 percent interest, or when people lost houses and there was no help and yet all of you stood there and did NOTHING. So now I would say your points have so much less merit, especially when O care was stated to be a fraud and welfare, wealth distribution program by its creators.

I can go on to name the times the current pres has failed and made the US apologize to leaders and caused the whole US to cringe but he was our president and we sent the biggest, loudest constitutionally gaurenteed way to say you are not my president by voteing this president out of office along with his high misguided ideals. But what we did not do is make a fool of ourselves or not give him a chance to hang himself. We did not like the sound of his change theme but we took it, Congress took it, and now we have to dig ourselves out of the pit he has put us in.

This president has cost the US dearly and me personally like most and hopefully the hope and change that Obama ran with will be the words that came home to bless the US.

All the polls, Biden, Congress, and most said how did this happen, remember? I can tell you how it happened because they did not really hear us doing the same acts like the protesters in the streets and we are so tired of world imperialism taking the place of Make America great again.

We are a special country, we have helped most of the world, we are prominent on the world scene and we don't need a president that thinks we should surrender what many have died for and fought for and worked for just because he says so. But we gave him his chance and it proved one thing, YOUR VIEW OF THE USA SUCKS.

This country in its founding was never made to bow down to the world governments it was made by a people who wanted a free and God fearing people. This was never Obama's view and still today in front  of many world governments lectures us about a rise in nationalism as dangerous. He shows just how friendly and accommodating he is to the world leaders that would want to sink the US under the rise of their own power by submitting the US to the UN and other world organizations that want the US money, power and military but without even paying their fair share. Obama has played prostitute with the US benefits and has come to world leaders like the mac daddy pimp and said don't worry I have it under control. He has disgraced US excellence and You the liberals applauded him while the rest of the US felt more and more weight from the oppression of this government. If when this was happening said nothing knowing the feelings of those who did not agree with Obama out of nothing else other than caring about your fellow citizens said nothing, I really don't think you should be so vocal with your opinions now, because they will be as ineffective as they were with Obama.

I don't recall any such disdain from you in the last 8 years when members would say "Obama isn't my president "  coolsmiley

Since the topic being discussed is 'not my President', I'm calling a flag on the play...

I have said may times over the last 7 years that I don't like the SOB, but I have never said he wasn't my president.  I do think that is the major difference between the election of Trump and Obama.  We didn't like it but we didn't burn and disrupt the cities and spend weeks crying about it.  If you want to do something about the elections get better candidates.  What is going on now  strengthens the Republicans.  Keep moving left and separate yourselves further from the mainstream, including the more conservative democrats, and you will be out the white house for many years to come.

[/quote]RDA, I've done my best to stay out of political discussions here since it was brought to my attention that I was a devisive force here. And I am going to continue to try that tact. But I am not looking to protest, burn, disrupt our cities. And I am in no way condoning that. All I am pointing out is the COMPLETE reversal by some here towards the attitude of the office of the President of the USA.

The silent and often over looked group

Well if I must explain it I will, that silent and overlooked group I was speaking of, was the same group that voted this time against Clinton, whether it was for Trump or not is debatable.   The same group that didn't go to the polls the last few elections, the same group that stood tall and said enough is enough.   That grass roots movement against what "the entitlement kids" want.    You know the group that has been vocalizing and saying they were upset but no one seemed to be listening.

That pendulum will swing back to the left eventually but, I surely wish it would land somewhere in the middle and stay static for a while.    That, will require both sides to see where we are, reach across the aisle and maybe do as the founders intended while writing our Constitution and as the voters who put this Congress and administration in the majority.

There's a difference between a helping hand and a hand out, free rides are not and were never intended to last forever.   No President gets everything they want or prescribe.   This one will be no different.   President Trump will not get everything he said he wanted to do if elected. congress will not fund it.   But, I have no doubt, there will be some painful lessons for all of us to weigh and consider how we got to where we are.

here is one Democrats statement on it and I could not say it better.
Rothenberg dismissed the post-election protests in cities across the country and urged wannabe protesters to wait until Trump actually does something in office before taking to the streets.

“How can you just protest the election results?” he said. “You’re protesting democracy. You’re protesting the American people. You’re protesting free and fair elections.”

Robert, if you haven't seen it, it's because you have chosen not to see it.

Not true but let me ask you, since your so vocal here when you saw the unfairness over Obama care and the shrinking middle class why didnt YOU say something. OR maybe you choose not to see that. Maybe you the polls and Biden, Hillary and Obama have something in common which is being clueless.

I don't doubt you did but on what side did you speak up about the admins or the common man?

That's a very good point, and that's the way I'm playing it. I'm almost horrified to see the Cabinet he's assembling, but until choices are made and he's sworn in, I'm going to give him a chance. So far, I haven't seen one thing that is encouraging. And you can be sure that I'll be here to voice any and all opinions I might have.

There are some major issues at risk. Two of which are Medicare and Social Security....

Well, he just did a speech in Anaheim and insisted that they start with the singing of the National anthem. That's a good thing, however small it is. Besides,, he is not POTUS yet. And his cabinet choices I have no doubt you will ever like. He will be way too conservative for you, I can promise you that. And I do understand your position,, I just suffered 8 years of the same.

I think we all understand the frustrations the left has right now. We just dealt with 8 years of the same frustrations.

For some information and to set the record straight not what the left reported on this board.

Pence did not say thats how democracy works over the statements made by the cast but to the boos at the beginning of the show when they came in.

He also did not say it was no big deal but deferred making a statement and judgement of the actions to others.

But he did question if it was the appropriate venue to say it.

Pence on Hamilton Controversy: I Wasn't 'Offended' by What Was Said

A gracious and eloquent man that shows more manners and tact than those who put on the show.
Again another false report from the media to make things sound as if no big deal.

I didn't see anyone on this board report it differently (left or right). At least on this thread.

Sorry Robert, never accepted a handout, not taking yours.
As far as leaving this country, not planning on doing that either.  See, that would be the easy way out.
So, what ARE my plans?
Simple.
To fight against every deplorable thing that bigoted, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic rat haired twit attempts to do on every legal arena I can.
To the other member who chided me about how hard the next year's are going to be  ( sorry, you made such an impression on me I failed to remember your name) I care not how hard it will be.
To the other members who started in with the liberal this, or liberal that, thanks for supporting my ability to decide what is right for myself.  Thanks for putting me in a neat, little compartment and making yourself so comfortable.
Is Donny boy the President elect?   How stupid do you believe me to be?  But here's my point, clear and simple.
Donny does not represent my values
Donny does not represent my core beliefs
Donny won this election through fear and hate mongering.
As such, he will forever remain
