As Trump himself said, he could shoot somebody on 5th avenue and not lose any support. I know that none of this will probably make a difference to most of you, but I am going to point it out nonetheless. The Trump that you voted for is not the Trump you thought he was. The truth is, he is not a conservative, he believes in climate change, and a woman's right to choose. He believes in universal healthcare. Here are just a couple of the positions he has changed on just since being elected:
Trump then: "If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation, because there has never been so many lies, so much deception. There has never been anything like it, and we're going to have a special prosecutor," he said at the second presidential debate last month. He added that she'd be "in jail" if he were president.
Trump now: "I want to move forward, I don't want to move back. And I don't want to hurt the Clintons. I really don't. She went through a lot. And suffered greatly in many different ways. And I am not looking to hurt them at all," Trump told The New York Times on Tuesday. "It's just not something that I feel very strongly about." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trump then: In a March interview with the Washington Post's editorial board, he said, "I think there's a change in weather. I am not a great believer in man-made climate change. I'm not a great believer...I'm not a big believer in man-made climate change." And in May, he said he would "cancel" the Paris climate change accord. Trump now: "I have an open mind to it," he told the Times on the Paris deal. "We're going to look very carefully. I have a very open mind." Asked about the scientific consensus on a connection between human activity and climate change, he added: "I think there is some connectivity. There is some, something. It depends on how much. It also depends on how much it's going to cost our companies." And in May, he said he would "cancel" the Paris climate change accord.

It also depends on how much it's going to cost our companies." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trump then: "Real change begins with immediately repealing and replacing Obamacare," he said on the eve of the election.
Trump now: "Either Obamacare will be amended, or repealed and replaced," Trump told The Wall Street Journal -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trump then: "The people of South Carolina are embarrassed by Nikki Haley!" he tweeted in March.
Trump now: Wednesday, Trump picked her as his ambassador to the United Nations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trump then: "No media is more corrupt than the failing New York Times."
Trump now: "I will say, The Times is, it's a great, great American jewel. A world jewel." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you remember he said he would "drain the swamp", yet he is now filling positions with lobbyists and billionaire donors. You know it isn't even likely he is going to "build a wall" either. There won't be a "deportation force", and there won't be a "ban on muslim immigrants" either.

The truth is, he's not Hillary Clinton. I would have voted for any other candidate over that witch. Clear enough? Another truth, IMHO Trump would not have beat most other viable Democrat Party Candidates but after the last eight years, you picked Clinton to be your flag bearer. Personally, it's MHO that you can blame yourselves.

Trump has merely done what I would have done to make it less likely that he will be assassinated by the forces against change.
Not the least of which is Clinton based. He needs to quell the Hillary rioting and protesting and he has taken the air out of the movement. Electors who try to backtrack will be sitting ducks and they will lose their nerve now.
Have you not noticed how many who had ANYTHING to say about Clintons are dead. Including a bunch of suicides with multiple gunshot wounds to the back of the head, (Try that at home)
If you want to get your word out to the Hillary supporters you need the Times, lets see how their editorials (which I dont read anyway) change over the next 100 days now !
Lets not pronounce interim judgment until we have seen the results of the full cabinet pics and the first dozen or so bills and the State of the Union speech

I wonder how long it will be until conservatives are able to talk about Trump without mentioning Hillary. When Obama won (2x) McCain and Romney were pretty much forgotten the next day. Now the Republicans have won the house, senate, and white house, there isn't a whole lot left for you to bitch about is there? I guess you are going to keep talking about a washed up ex-politician that lost the election (though she won the popular vote by what 2 MILLION VOTES).

Most likely never. I'm sure who his opponent was is why most folks I know voted for him. Therefore, take credit where credit is due.

You're right, doesn't make a difference to me. He is showing an open mind, a trait you might try to emulate sometime. No policies have been etched in stone as of yet. At least this President Elect is not only choosing loyalists like his predecessor did.
Obama attacked his critics. Trump is already reaching out to many of his.
And the biggest plus is, he's not Hillary!

Notice a recurring theme cupcake DaddyO? You should stand tall and take credit, you helped The Donald become your and my President. Had the dems put up any of the other folks that were viable and no, I don't mean Bernie, I'm fairly sure, Trump would not be the President Elect. Take a bow DaddyO. You had a great influence on this election. BTW, I'm still not a Trump fan but, you didn't give me a viable option I could live with.

I'm waiting for the teeth-gnashing to begin when Medicare gets privatized and premiums go through the roof for retirees/about to be retirees. Which happens to be a pretty big percentage of this board's members. Then we'll see how they feel about yanking that lever.

Won't even try to deny that I don't view the democrats as conservative but, there are some worthy of consideration. Additionally, I'm pretty sure I said viable but, that really doesn't matter for the vast majority of folks that came over to Trump's side. BUT, had the Dems offered up a decent Conservative candidate, they would have gotten serious consideration. So, we're back to where we started, those that gave us Clinton got what they deserved. Edited: DaddyO, where'd ya go? Just stop in to drop a stink bomb and then leave?

Yes, I could (depending on who they were up against) but, I won't because, this isn't about me and I won't let you put me in that corner. Trump won, not because he was the best, he won because of who the Dems put up against the Republicans. That, I sincerely believe.

I'm not Ron, and you're half right, after the Bill Clinton semi auto gun ban I vowed I would NEVER vote for a Democrat again, however if the Democrats had run someone slightly less evil and vile than they had I would have voted my true conscience and voted Libertarian instead of having to do whatever I could to pull America back from the brink of annihilation and voting for Trump simply to stop Hillary.

Well, speaking for myself, I've seen President Trump for what he is right from the start. He is a negotiator. He stakes down a position that is hard and sometime ridiculous and negotiates from that. As to Hillary and prosecution. The saga isn't over yet. If the media continues to press him on it he may just fulfil his promise and go the independent prosecutor route when the time comes. I could go on but the theme is the same. He has staked out positions from which to negotiate from. We're not getting duped at all. In fact, we avoided getting duped by the biggest con artists in the modern age.

Isn't it kind of difficult to name a democrat you would have voted for without knowing the opponent? Kind of a stupid question the liberals ask. For me, I would never vote for a democrat these days.

One might want to read the actual transcript of the meeting and not what the times reported. After all it is the Times not know for any accurate reporting just spin. Fortunately the wise and most astute Rush Limbaugh today pointed out all the errors in the times reporting from the actual transcript that Rush had. I for one am feeling quite good about the old chap and seems business and peoples renewed optimism is also. I am sure the does not play well with you and the reason for the pot stirring.

Thank you DaddiO for pointing the obvious out, your right it really does not make a difference since he is not in office yet and I'm sure he is on a real learning curve. I have no problem in him moderating his views contrary to what you try to stir up. I and most people are not uninformed, contrary to what you may think and if we weren't happy with it could bring it up ourselves, we dont need you to do this. Liberals and all were worried that he would be too extreme in his position, so when he moderates it, hes wrong also, sorry cant have it both ways. Obama has designed and used everything in his power to make the changes as hard as possible to undo. Obama knew this, planned this, and continues to work against the US populations best interest. I wish he would be brought up on treason charges, but at least Hillary is not in office. We can talk 6 to 12 months down the line and see but you know what, at least Hillary is not in. Your post is a non issue right now. OH BTW, He is exactly who I thought he was, but he is not who you thought he would be, thats the problem. Did you see the stock market? Just spectacular!

Can you name a couple democrats you could have voted for ?
Yes, I could (depending on who they were up against) but, I won't because, this isn't about me and I won't let you put me in that corner. Trump won, not because he was the best, he won because of who the Dems put up against the Republicans. That, I sincerely believe. Not trying to put you in any box. If you don't want to have your credibility tarnished here by naming someone from behind enemy lines, I can understand. Since I have little credibility with most of our members I will name some I could have voted for. John Kasich, Rand Paul, Colin Powell. (See it wasn't that hard) I certainly don't mind voting for a Democrat. Can you find me one that is considered Pro-Life, Pro Israel, and Pro second and tenth amendments? That would be a rare bird. Is there a Democrat out there like that?

Hey Daddie O, all I hope is that all California does as it hopes and secedes from the Union in 2018 or 2019. I actually laughed pretty hard when I read that they are considering doing this. That state is nothing but a huge drain on the US. You can take Pelosi and make her your new President! Good Luck with that one!

Huge drain? How do you figure? We pay far more to the federal government than we receive. That's the main reason we can't leave, y'all can't afford to pay for yourselves so you need California to pick up the tab.

I know that none of this will probably make a difference to most of you, but I am going to point it out nonetheless. The Trump that you voted for is not the Trump you thought he was. The truth is...............
Yup, this. At this point, I don't care about being 100% conservative or not, I care about who's going to do the best thing for this country. The social issues are going to be argued as long as we're living on this planet -- doesn't matter who's in there, because if he does something the majority don't like, the next guy will change it. My biggest concern right now is getting this country back on track, because it's gone backwards in so many ways over the last 20 years. Clinton was NOT the one to do that she would have continued if not expedited the downward spiral. Trump was the only other option and his objectives are more in line with my priorities than anyone else's at the moment. So there it is.

The man hasn't even officially been elected much less sworn in and the Lefties are already arm chair quarterbacking Trump's administration as if they can read the future.
My Dad and my brother, their two heads are still spinning. They were sure HRC was a shoe in. At least they are too pissed off to talk about it. Lol
Trump is in Clinton out. That's more than enough for me right now. How bout we give him a chance to take the reins and see how he does.
