.... of a day here in SW BC after one of the few significant snowfalls we'll get all Winter. It was an absolute nightmare yesterday commuting home to the "back country" region of the Lower Mainland from my office in Burnaby, trying to dodge all those pretentious city folks who refuse to put Winter tires on their fancy BMW's, Lexus's and Mercedes thinking they can get through the odd snowfall we get here. The oft used cliche about all Canadians being hardy Winter folk definitely does not apply to Vancouver-ites.... a real bunch of wimps.... in particular when it comes to driving in snow. All the jokes our fellow Canadians across the country make about Vancouver drivers when it comes to Winter are 100% justified.

Always a bright side to everything though, such as the view from Burnaby Mtn park which is 5 minutes from my office, on a clear Sunny day after a snowfall... cooldude

That's Vancouver off in the distance....from atop Burnaby Mtn.

Burnaby Mtn, SFU at the top, closed because the buses couldn't get up the hill, and you made it to the top. It was beautiful yesterday, stepping out my door into 0.3' C temp and about 2" of snow. Road was so bad, it took me 3x the amount of time it usually does to get to work, a whole 15 min! Step on the gas, and it was like being on ice.

Fresh snow all over, 0' temps, and all that nice snow from yesterday is now frozen. I had the snow tires on my wife's car since Oct. Mine, new all season.

Don't worry Mike, we'll have more snow by Thursday, and back to our regular snow/rain by the weekend.

I hear you. Vancouver is one of the nicest cities I've been to, but it's still a city.

Got to agree with MH here... and you, too... Canada is one of the most spectacular places I've ever been, and for me southwestern Canada is the best of the best! Yep, got a few cities, for sure, but WOW! do y'all also have some remote areas, small villages, and scenic roads... and mountains galore!!! Dang, I'm getting the urge to visit that neck of the woods again...
