A life well lived by a gentleman who understood the meaning of American exceptionalism, in a time when we expected it of ourselves, and we delivered. A true hero to so many.

Last of the original space cowboys, the Mercury Seven.
His wingman in Korea was Ted Williams; now thatmust have been somethin' to behold.

A patriot to his country for all  of his life.  Well done and rest easy, Mr. Glenn. angel

A favorite movie of mine has been the right stuff.  The whole test pilot and Mercury Seven culture was full of heros.  None greater than John Glenn.   Thanks what you gave for this great country.
Godspeed John Glenn.

His NYT obituary includes a good video of a 2012 interview with him.

He would've been at least 91 years old at the time and looks great.
